"This post is dedicated to those silent heroes who are living their lives giving service to the Filipino people.
When the news of having Manila lockdown for almost a month broke, my instinct was to call a very close friend who lives alone and works as a nurse in a hospital in Manila.
I asked him if he has plans of going back to Iloilo and just stay with his family and his response was, "Diri lang ko ya. Kilanlan ako sa ubra ko. Kilanlan ako sang pasyente ko. Kilanlan ko sila buligan kay nurse ako". (I'll just stay here. My job needs me. My patients need me. I have to help them because I'm a nurse.)
I asked him again,"Wala ka nahadlok?" - Aren't you scared?"
He replied, "Nahadlok eh. Nahadlok gid ko ya pero ginapanumdom ko lang nagnurse ako knowing the risk of my job.Gamay lang ni nga sakripisyo para mabuligan ko mga tawo gakilanlan sakun subong. " (Im scared... I really am but I decided to become a nurse knowing the risk of my job. This is just a little sacrifice so I can help those people who needed me the most.) To all the frontliners, doctors, nurses, other medical professionals, policemen, military officers, security guards and etc., thank you for sacrificing a lot of things just to make sure everything will be under control. Thank you for having the bravest and kindest souls. We are all praying for your health and safety.
To the all Filipinos, let us be one with the government and follow this 14-day self quarantine. During these days don't forget to get enough rest, read that favorite book of yours, have some home exercise, do something purposeful and last but not the least pray.
I know with the cooperation from everyone, this NCOV pandemic crisis will soon come to an end. In the most challenging time, hope should blossom in each and everyone of us."
