The pageant was held at the Baguio Country Club in Baguio City without a live audience.
Rabiya Mateo, whose name means "princess or queen" edged out 44 other girls for the prestigious title
as she was crowned by her predecessor Gazini Ganados (Binibining Pilipinas 2019)
She will represent the Philippines in the Miss Universe 2020 pageant at a venue to be announced later.
Rabiya Mateo has become the official representative of Iloilo City for Miss Universe Philippines 2020 after she was confirmed at the red-carpet presentation.

The first edition of Miss Universe Philippines i.e. Miss Universe Philippines 2020 is all set to host it's Crowning gala on October 24, 2020.
Rabiya, whose name means “princess or queen”, stands 5 feet 7 inches tall (1,70 m) and hails from Balasan, Iloilo.
She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from the Iloilo Doctors College. She now works at SRG Manila Review Center as Review Coordinator and Lecturer. Rabiya was crowned as Miss Iloilo Universe 2020 at the West Visayas State University Cultural Center, she declares:
“If I were to be crowned tonight, it will be such an honor to bring to the global community our very own hablon which represents dedication, hard work and creative side of every Ilonggo. Aside from that, I want to show to the world that I am a queen today because of my province and with that being said, I want to prove to everyone that I am a true Ilongga with a heartfelt beauty,” Mateo said during the question and answer portion. Mateo was also declared “Best in Talent” in the finale.
When it comes to her intended cause, Rabiya is a staunch advocate of education. She believes that it is the solid way to a better and successful future. “As an educator, I want people to see education the way that I see it – a golden ticket to success. Knowledge is and always will be power, wherever you are, whoever you’re with. If you are knowledgeable you will excel and become successful,” the diva said.
