Amanda, Punika and Vena deserved the top 3 spots Praew and Cindy just messed up their chances.
Another thing in the top 3 Q&A Punika was wayyy worse than the other two but don't get me wrong Amanda did not really answer the question while Vena's answer was generic and she did mention the King which you know is a VERY controversial topics in Thailand causing big protests.
I still think Amanda earned that crown her overall performance was better than Vena and Punika and I don't get the hate on her just because you understand only her answer does not mean she is the worst.
Also stop comparing her to Emmy the only thing Emmy has is her oratory
How Punika's answer was the worst? Can you elaborate? Performance wise, Punika led in both swimsuit and evening gown.
The question was very tricky. They use Wat Arun to confuse the girls. The question is Wat Aron is the Icon/Signature of Thailand, if you get to be the next MUT how would you show the iconic side of you as a Thai representative?
Punika's answer was she would give the MUO and other participants the Thai coins as the icon of Thailand because it has all the Thai signatures in it. and she said it shows in her behavior as she is truly and fully Thai blood
I think she misunderstood the Wat Arun part since it was not the question itself.
Her answer was much better than Amanda. Amanda's answer never really answered the question.
Punika's reply if you analyze means she knows the coin, the history and it is very admirable (I dont know the images in our coins and even in most of our bills ). She answered directly and adding that being herself is already fully Thai - that statement means a lot. I think, you are just trying to spin it in favor of Amanda who by the way, I like her too. I was just disappointed that she won undeservingly. Her victory was tainted a bit.

Veena should try Miss Thailand World, I think she has this Miss World aura.
I'm still so proud of Punika
Praewanich is still 21, she can still join again in the near future!

Sorry but Praew is 27 this is her last chance to compete along with Punika and Amanda.

No offense to those girls, but if it becomes a norm, it’s definitely an insult to local Thai women. We need more Aniporn, Chalita to represent Thailand. Either Praew or Punika would be a perfect Thai representative.

Oh... that's FIVE out of SIX in the last six years that MUP winners are not 100% Filipinos, but we're all cool with that!

well in the philippines we are used to seeing many mixed people since we were young...mj lastimosa, pia and rachel and gazini are just like regular mestizas you see in makati, taguig, BCG complex, etc.. in thailand mixed breeds are just starting to emerge. many foreigners are marrying thais and in probably two decades there will be more mixed breeds than the philippines in terms of halfies. even now their perception of beauty is changing.

the philippines is used to seeing mixed faces, that's true, simply because philippine showbiz is full of mixed talents. half-whites are more tolerated and "worshipped" in the philippines compared to thailand. just take for example the reception towards the victory of bint (a native thai beauty) compared to anntonia (a half-white beauty), who both won their respective pageant.
as a conclusion, mixed breeds in thailand are just as plenty in proportion to overall population when compared to the PH. the only difference is, it is just more magnified in the PH because of the colonial mentality that PH has been subjected to, due to long period of colonization by white races (spain and US). thailand was never colonized.
PS: BCG and taguig are full of mestiza beauties because that's where they usually hang out or work. they're the the new makati or alabang...

i was in bangkok last year and overall filipinos look more mixed than thais in physical appearance. i mean we have been mixing with Spaniards and other foreigners since AD 1565...but if we are talking about halfies or first generation, then thailand has probably more at present
