Mallory Hagan is a 23 year-old resident of Park Slope, Brooklyn and a student at The Fashion Institute of Technology studying Advertising, Marketing and Communications. A talented tap dancer, Hagan has over 20 years of dance training and holds several leadership roles including spokesperson for Fitocracy.com and a counselor for Show Choir Camps of America. Additionally, she has volunteered for organizations such as Girls Inc., Boys and Girls Club, American Cancer Society and the Dove: Campaign for Real Beauty. After her reign as Miss New York, Hagan plans to use her $10,000 scholarship to finish her degree and pursue a career in Cosmetics & Fragrance Marketing.
Child Sexual Abuse Awareness & Prevention
As Miss New York 2012, Mallory Hagan will be focusing her efforts on Child Sexual Abuse Awareness and Prevention, an issue that hits close to home. Hagan has chosen to honor the women in her family who have been victims of sexual abuse by sharing their personal stories and encouraging others to take a stand. Current partnerships include organizations such as Stop It Now!, Darkness to Light and Safe Horizon. Hagan has also joined the Child Abuse Prevention Program team where she will play an integral role in program planning for the upcoming school year, as well as the organizations’ social media presence and fundraising efforts.
