Why Singapore placed, Indonesia clapped at Miss Earth 2020?

Postby ajsy0203 » Sat Dec 12, 2020 4:48 am

In your opinion, why do you think the preliminary judges chose Christina Cai of Singapore over Safira Rumimper of Indonesia at Miss Earth 2020 for the top scorers from Asia and Oceania? What was Christina's edge over Safira?

Of all other unplaced delegates, why do you zero-in on Indonesia ajsy0203? What do want to achieve with this question? Are you proving yourself an apologist that you tend to "romanticize" on the unplaced Indon girls to the detriment of many others who also did not advance? You seem to like to cement their status as if they were overachievers when clearly they're not and far from all that! Likewise, these other losing girls deserve as much space and bandwidth than your fav type/undeserved hype?

because Christina Cai is way better than Miss Indonesia, by miles. Besides, maybe Miss Singapore's interview and advocacy gave her the edge over Safira Rumimper.

This is for analysis why suddenly Singapore got the edge against Indonesia at Miss Earth 2020 and as you know these Indonesian PL are still trying to discredit Miss Earth after their endless clapping streak.

It sounds pretty naive for you to think that. So called "analyses" will not inhibit nor mitigate the haters on casting aspersion to what little has Ms Earth achieved trough the years. It will merely add fire because the comments will feed the trolls.

Exactly! The only way to stop these Indonesian trolls is to not feed them. Stop talking about Indonesia asj yan ang napansin ko sayo. You always talk about Indonesia like it is a big deal in the world of pageantry if they don't place or a Miss Earth Queen is not able to come and visit Indonesia. What makes Indonesia different from Malaysia for example in the pageant industry?

Indonesia placed in every Big 5 pageants in the last few years except Miss Earth and to make even worse the Indonesian PL are mocking and insulting against ME. So there was something wrong with El John because if Singapore and Myanmar were able to make the first cut why Indonesia still struggled at ME. Is this the time for Carousel to award the franchise to Puteri Indonesia?

Safira is beautiful and I like her a lot. But her prelims in Intelligence was shaky. Ghandi, an Indonesian judge, can attest to that. Her body was not that toned too. Christina has something special in her. Her intelligence and personality really shone for her. Her body, despite not statuesque, is toned. Singapore has placed twice. Myanmar really did good in preparing their queen this year. Let us hope for Monica to study and strategize next year. Since next year is expected to be live in person, she has to do extra effort coz she would be dwarfed by other towering Asian Queens. However, we know that in Miss Earth, height does not always matter.

I agree with you on this, beautywatchnyc. This kind of discussion instigates and will only cause further grudge and animosity among Indonesian fans against Miss Earth, or Carousel Productions.

Either this person is obsessed with Indonesia or he works for missosology to create traffic. Many pinoys here are obsessed with everything about Indonesia, no matter how absurd the topic/question is (which was often the case with TS’s thread) people will then chimed in, which is always good for the site. :">

Papatulan na kita ah!

Indonesia is not placing in ME because they are sending mediocre, unprepared and lackluster candidates

Singapore placed this year in the person of Christina Cai, because she had appeal and is very charistmatic. And she speaks really well and performed really well

In Miss Earth, if you are beautiful and perform well, you will place. (Add LUCK there)

Tell El John to give up the Franchise and stop sending unprepared girls.

And an advise, do not mind the indonesian bashers, they are irrelevant. They have not contributed to the world of pageanty

LEARN TO CHOOSE YOUr BATTLES
Don’t waste your time on them. They are all irrelevant

I dont want to discredit the preparation and the desire to place/win of Indonesian delegates. They are sending some competitive delegates in the past. However, they might excel in 1 or 2 prelims but still lag behind in another.

This is the case of Argentina and Chile this year. They both excel, in my opinion, in beauty and fitness prelims but lag behind in intelligence. These two queens are Miss Universe caliber too but they were outsmarted by other queens in their continent who performed in all categories. All delegates must look into this.

Myanmar and Singapore performed excellently in all categories that is why they placed.

For me, it is okay to discuss this so that they will also look into this matter and rethink their strategy. Monica of Indonesia might also continue the nonplacement next year if she fails to prepare in 3 categories.

Thanks for acknowledging.

I know you are asking this question because you want to defend Miss Earth against Indonesian bashers.

But puhlease remember this saying, “empty vessels make the loudest noise”

Would you spend your energy on empty vessels?

Stop. Think. And refrain from meddling with them.

Be a Karen Ibasco, and not be bothered. They only have 1 crown, let them bask in that one crown! Let them ignore Miss Earth (which I am pretty sure they want to get, even if they claim they are ignoring it)

Look at Puerto Rico, the moment they sent beautiful delegates and sent prepared girl and eventually started placing and winning (thanks to their ND), the PR bashers STOPPED or kept quiet. Case in point, when you want something badly, and you don’t get it, you make loud noises (ala-Nampetch Teeyapar) and claim that ME is irrelevant and rigged. BUT THE TRUTH IS, they are actual fans. Who just wants to win.

Let them BE. Their envy will die a natural cause.

It’s a numbers game. Singapore outscored Indonesia, plain and simple. And that’s with an Indonesian judge in the Intelligence panel.

Instead of hating on Miss Earth for their non-placements, Indonesian fans need to encourage their most beautiful and smartest women to join MEI. Because in Miss Earth, a woman places based on her own merits which explains why even a semifinals spot for a delegate is already met with so much excitement. This is so unlike in other pageants where placements are dictated by money, crowning invitations, politicking, and large and noisy fanbases.

Here are my reasons why that country in the south is not placing.

1. El John has little to no idea how ME works. There are only 3 categories for them to place and yet they dont prepare their reps well.

2. In Miss Earth you place base on your merits. You have a big fan base? ME doesnt care. You are threatening to boycott ME? ME doesnt care. You kick ME out of your elite 4 pageants? ME doesnt care.

3. Send a strong delegate. Asia most of the time is weak in ME but why Indo is still clapping? Because their delegates are part if the weakest delegates in ME

4. Change your ND.

I think Christina was much more prepared, to be honest. I'm not following Miss Earth this year, but there's an obvious reason why some ''frontrunners'' or ''dark horses'' clap in Miss Earth. Miss Earth is actually very fair in terms of its judging system - and I applaud them for that.
No more bashers in 2022, please.

Also, watch Dani Walker's video to know more on how bashers can kill with their words.

Singapore actually did a great job.
If everyone can be a beauty queen, what is hardwork?
Maybe there is no hardwork, only surgeries ?

Singapore was a pleasant surprise. She's got great personality, and she looks great on cam. She faired well in all aspects of the competition. She kind of reminds me of Rachel of Crazy Rich Asians. Her ball gown for the finals was exquisite. Her team should be very proud.
