I am wondering and kinda intrigued on when other powerhouse countries of Miss Universe, which is the most celebrated, popular, searched, exciting, and resilient (since it didn't miss an edition yet even during pandemic unlike the one year older another big four rival pageant) could voluntary host or bring the competition in their own territories. There are lot of countries who have been winning and placing consistently since the pageant started, but I cannot see that they are interested on at least giving back or showing gratitude to at least hold the pageant at their homes though I understand that they are not obligated on doing so. I know that there are many factors to consider like the overall budget, security, etc., but come on if other countries who have been shading by the international media as unsafe because of politics, civil wars, religion, economic status, etc. were able to host, why can't them? Are they afraid on not winning the most coveted crown when the pageant is hold on their countries? What seems to be the problem? Explain Colombia, Venezuela, India, etc.

India has hosted MW in the past. But political issue's aside, that edition didn't even achieve commercial success. Rather it caused so much losses for the company that brought MW to India, that company went bankrupt after the pageant. So even in case of MW, the Indian companies know it's not a winning bet. In fact in 2016 Steve from MWO met with the Chief Minister of the state of Maharashtra trying to convince him to host MW in Mumbai. But the state never took any interest in it.

BUT,
but,
If Brazil can do it, so can Colombia and Venezuela.
MGI was held in Venezuela, but it is a Thai based pageant, if US based pageant will host in Venezuela, they will be attacked & criticized left and right as Venezuela is suffering so much and its anti poor or it is insensitive to the country's situation.

India already hosted Miss World 1996 but the reception was very cold by the Indian people (possibly due to politics) that led to too many protest against the pageant at that time.

Also aside from hosting I believe the last reigning Miss Universe went to Colombia was Michelle McLean (correct me if I'm wrong) and I never heard any reigning Miss Universe went to Venezuela with the exception if the winner is from there of course! Same with Colombia. How odd.

Parade all the ladies in their Bikinis all the time especially in the social and media functions and let's see if magic or miracles will happen to India or other countries hosting the events. Just like Dayana Mendoza when she uttered her answer as her underwear she can't live without, she took the title of Miss Universe.

I don't think Indonesia should host the pageant, given that Miss World 2013 was hosted there and you know what happened. I want France to host Miss Universe, since they can afford it, along with the United Kingdom (although it would be hilarious since that is the domain of Miss World)!
