Tyra Banks is yet again setting her sights overseas and expanding her empire one spinoff off show at a time. "Africa's Next Top Model" will become the fourth continent that has adopted ANTM's highly successful model search-meets-reality show concept. And Tyra has tapped Nigerian model Oluchi Onweagba Orlandi to serve as the series' host and co-producer.
“The African version of the franchise is long overdue and I expect the show to be a smashing success across the continent,” Oluchi said in a release.
Africa’s Next Top Model is the newest in the Top Model franchise that already spans three continents and 35 countries including Australia, China, Brazil, France, Sweden, Canada, Italy and the UK. The hunt for Africa’s next top model will take place across the continent, from South Africa to Kenya and Sierra Leone.
-We hope the Africa’s Next Top Model TV contest show reverses the current trends about African, black models and models of color.-
