Chin up T&T and Tya she did well. Yay for Continental Queen of the Caribbean. This is looking actually very hopeful for future Miss T&T. If only we could get a MUTT back but let us not start that mess today......... lol Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all. What a year. Very Happy for Jamaica too. Caribbean Miss World looks great!!

Don't wanna speak too early but hoping we have even better choices for next year! This should be some much needed incentive for MW2020

Congrats T&T. Well deserved. She should have been in the Top 12 — she probably just missed the cut.

Miss World needed to fill the "quota" of the continent groupings...

They chose:

TOP 12

AFRICA: 2
AMERICAS: 2
ASIA: 4
CARIBBEAN: 1
EUROPE: 2
OCEANIA: 1

TOP 5

AFRICA: 1
AMERICA: 1
ASIA: 1
CARIBBEAN: 1
EUROPE: 1

For this reason, they only had 1 spot for a Caribbean queen who eventually won, so we did not make Top 12.
Be fair and just in all that you do.

One more thing I'd like to say FOR NOW..............

The Trinidadians who do not follow pageants & and know VERY little about Gopaul and his partner, will be congratulating them :| :-j but those of us who KNOW BETTER, will know where CREDIT is due. :-w

I say this because I know very well that Brian Gopaul and his CREW will be patting themselves on the back for Tya's success. :#)] :-w :;|
But the credit goes MOSTLY to Tya for HER hard work.......PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!

There's more I'd like to say but I will not do so right now.......it's not the appropriate time to go on a RANT.

Interesting that Asia gets 4....I know there is alot of pandering to a particular country in that region. =b

That final gown for Tya was underwhelming. I saw her look better in an off the rack gown.

Brian Gopaul dropped the ball when it came to best dress award entry (tasteless, ghetto disaster) and the final gown (forgettable).

Interesting...they had hundreds of thousands of dollars to throw in every direction for last year's rep a.k.a. Satan's Mistress, who we all knew was a CERTIFIED CLAPPER and aloof one-percenter from even before they handed her a crown, but for the real competitor Tya they did not seem so interested.

The Classism with this franchise is something they created....I am waiting to see what happens for next year...they should hit the ground running in screening for next year's rep.

They had one of the best top 3 we have seen post-Peter Elias. The 2nd runner up needs to come back in 2021 and not next year (she needs alot of work but has great potential).

Trinis I know we are happy Tya got the regional title, but lets be honest, we want to win the regional title flat out...2nd in region makes it feel like a consolation prize.

When Brian is done propping up his ego, I want to see what happening next year. To date none of them can even touch Peter Elias' organization and selection process. =b

Thanks CNC3, somehow I am unable to post the vid successfully...in the vid the other delegates seem so happy for Tya...Anyone know who was the black delegate who was hopping with excitement when T&T was announced as MW Caribbean and ran over to congratulate Tya in the background?

Hold up...Peter Elias eh even comment on his FB page yet? I am sure he will eventually but this is so odd....usually he is on there after the pageant.

Anyone know anything about the relationship between Peter Elias and the current org?

Trinis on FB seem to be upset with this regional break down...it's seems with this break down that only the top performer from the Caribbean makes the final 12 - even if the 2nd placed person in the region is really top 5, she will be left our of the top 12.

MW needs to be transparent with how they select the top 12 at the least. =b

Julia have been wanting a Jamaican queen for the longest. She have been itching to give us that crown for years now .
You can see that she loves Toni-Ann when she was performing the way Julia was looking at her I knew it was done deal.
They should have placed tnt over one of those Asian countries

Congrats T&T. Well deserved. She should have been in the Top 12 — she probably just missed the cut.

Miss World needed to fill the "quota" of the continent groupings...

They chose:

TOP 12

AFRICA: 2
AMERICAS: 2
ASIA: 4
CARIBBEAN: 1
EUROPE: 2
OCEANIA: 1

TOP 5

AFRICA: 1
AMERICA: 1
ASIA: 1
CARIBBEAN: 1
EUROPE: 1

For this reason, they only had 1 spot for a Caribbean queen who eventually won, so we did not make Top 12.

Trinis on FB seem to be upset with this regional break down...it's seems with this break down that only the top performer from the Caribbean makes the final 12 - even if the 2nd placed person in the region is really top 5, she will be left our of the top 12.
v
MW needs to be transparent with how they select the top 12 at the least. =b

Julia have been wanting a Jamaican queen for the longest. She have been itching to give us that crown for years now .
You can see that she loves Toni-Ann when she was performing the way Julia was looking at her I knew it was done deal.
They should have placed tnt over one of those Asian countries

LOL Yellowyam - how Toni come in this. Trinis happy Toni won. It's just they thought as you said, Tya should have been placed in the final 12. We all know one Asian spot is reserved for a particularly pageant fanatic country. =b

Tya was robbed a spot for sure. Anyways glad she got the Caribbean title.
She gets to travel around the world with Toni

Yes, it's going to be great for both ladies. :hx I am still hoping though that Toni can visit T&T during her reign. :!!

She and tya was cool seems to be an issue somewhere I saw a pic of them together and tya didn’t seem happy at all and miss Nigeria is getting all the attention lmao

WAIT, WHAT? =;)) =;)) =;)) =;)) =;)) =;)) =;))

They need to let Miss Nigeria have her shine too...she was also great! =;)) =;)) =;)) =;)) =;))

There is pic of tnt and jamaica together after the crowing and while jamaica was smiling T&T was not here for it . Lol no smiling she just stood there and wasn’t best for the pic

@Yellowyam: You just like looking for bacchanal..... =;)) =;)) =;)) =;)) =;)) =;)) =;)) =;)) =;)) =;)) =;)) =;)) =;))

From what I gather, she is very happy her roommate won and she is continental queen.

If you find the pic, please share.....honestly I did not like Tya's styling for the finals....wonder if she felt the same? =;)) =;)) =;)) =;)) =;))

The crown was in Nigeria's lap, but she came across as SO GHETTO, and blew it. Also, that last twirl and 'booyaka' moment when Jamaica was crowned was just Nigeria acting a damn fool - not happiness for Jamaica. She stole some of Jamaica's spotlight with those theatrics, and I hated it.

I am indeed happy for Jamaica, she seems like a very sweet girl; and I'm likewise happy for our very own Tya for being the most consistent delegate we have had in over a decade. I wasn't her biggest fan at the start, but in terms of consistency - she certainly earned her stripes. Looking forward to next year...

Maya could have been TNT miss but let me not even go there, wishing you guys all the best on saturday she has a shot of taking it all.

Our girl has already made us proud. I don't expect her to win the MW title but it would be a tremendous victory for T&T if she makes the top 12/10...we have not done so since 2008.

As for Maya Cozier....I still feel upset with the org about how they wasted such a global competitor. >:< :%(( :%(( :%((

If you see sis now, you will take those words back. I was also a huge fan, but I have zero regret that she never won. Too hippy for my liking. :%)) :%))

One more bit. Miss World hasn't crowned a black girl since Agbani Derego of Nigeria in 2001. It was in the cards for Nigeria to win again this year, due to pressure from all the other major pageants which also crowned black women (Miss Teen USA, Miss USA, Miss America, Miss Universe). Nigeria (Top Model - who we all know is likely to win overall) had it in the bag until she had to face Piers Morgan.

ReinaKrystal and I suspected they'd crown a black girl due to the pressure once South Africa won Miss Universe, but we still doubted, because let's face it - Julia does what Julia wants. However, had MW not crowned a black girl, it would have reflected really badly on them. So, I have to ask - why 2019? Why did it take an entire 18 years to crown a black girl? I am in fact happy Jamaica won, but let's be real about the politics behind it.

Jamaica won her crown fair and square, she was the star of the night. She was unbeatable

Why she had to be ghetto? The girl was having fun and she is now trending and get More publicity than the other girls. She is very well spoken and well traveled. Be careful how you use the word ghetto, there was nothing about near actions that made her ghetto. We Jamaicans loving Nigeria reactions and so does the world she is making headline news around the world: very proud of her

So much I want to say about this outcome but all I will say is we finally sent a delegate worthy to be considered for the crown and we got automatic lock out of top 12. We will never place in MW again unless Jamaica sends a deplorable delegate. A mediocre one will still beat us. The powerhouse that is Jamaica in terms of notoriety (Usain Bolt, Bob Marley, Chris Gayle, the accent, etc) forget it lol. Half of judges probably dont even know where Trinidad is or anything about it.

She did an excellent job but I'm not sure what it will take to overcome all this bias.

Not saying Jamaica didn't win her crown fair and square; but we've all been on this forum long enough to know and identify the politics of pageants. That's all.

To each his own, but I said what I said. Nigeria acted a damn fool. This is a beauty pageant, not a football match. She was acting up even while Kenya was answering her question. For someone who is supposedly well travelled and cultured - it doesn't show.
