now for some tidbits ,israel will remain with lilac magazine in 2018, mostafa el gazali is officially the miss earth egypt franchise holder, he will appoint this year and the candidate as per reliable sources is the most beautiful ever miss earth egypt, so thats something exciting.crimea is sending a delegate but it will not come from miss crimea pageant as they were unable to fulfill the requirements but gosh there are two girls inthe running for the title and both are supermodel gorgeous girls. austria will also be present but it will not come from miss austria pageant.wales and scotland, will be present , so the britsih and irish isles will be complete for 2018. lithuania might come back as well as georgia.

Very exciting! I am delighted to know that a lot of former Miss Earth candidates took the reins to handle the Miss Earth franchise in their respective countries. Kudos to the Miss Earth titleholders Alyz Henrich of Venezuela and Katherine Espin of Ecuador for their hard work. Special acknowledgment also goes to Prince Julio of Venezuela for giving the world a beautiful Miss Earth Venezuela production. The Venezuelan winner this year is the girl to watch! Bravo! :-)

RUMORS OF MORE COUNTRIES PARTICIPATING.

LOOKS LIKE KAREN IBASCO'S WIN DID NOT AFFECT THE ATTITUDE OF NATIONAL DIRECTORS TOWARDS MISS EARTH AT ALL.

Karen was an unpopular winner but her win was not questionable. It was an actual competition where she aced the final stretch and was lucky the other formidable contenders faltered.

And this year, I hope MEO will choose the best girl overall with emphasis on goddess-like beauty since that is their theme for 2018.

Not questionable? She shouldn't have passed the first round where beauty and poise were judged. There were 15 girls prettier than her. You call that fair?

Honey, beauty is subjective..
what may appeal to one, does no necessarily appeal to another and vice versa. I agree that for my taste as well, there are plenty of girls prettier than Karen but then, the last girl standing is not always the prettiest, just my take.

It amazes me that the demand for the Earth franchise remains high despite the hate. For every non-renewal, there’s someone who takes over. This speaks volumes!

It isn’t surprising though the more I think about it. If I were a would be ND, the first thing I’d do is research the various pageants out there.

1. MGI - too opportunistic; peddles influence; purported cause appears to be for show only; owner is a drama queen but might be willing to give me the franchise for free (includes airfare for my delegate), at least at the beginning, so he can boast of his numbers. But watch out for how he treats the women.

2. Supra - too opportunistic; peddles influence; nothing much is heard from the winner; plus the owner likely started charging more when Misso created the Big 5.

3. International - prestigious pageant; affordable; but nothing much is heard from the winner.

4. World - long history behind it; beauties with a purpose - walks the talk; but expensive and owner pretty demanding; plus owner is the ultimate judge so at the end of the day - the women are really competing for her attention. And the ND better be rich enough to impress her.

5. Universe - mother of all pageants; but too expensive for a start up business.

6. Earth - not too expensive; great set of pre-pageant activities where the women are treated like real Queens; timely cause and winner is very visible - walks the talk. But wait! Why do a lot of pageant fans dislike it. That’s concerning... ;;?

Aha! The Philippines has won several times lately. Favoritism? [-X But why would the owners court this much controversy? It’s not good for business :-O . But wait! It just shows that the owners abide by the judges’ decisions even if they harm the pageant’s image. That’s what I want! Fair results not dictated upon by the organizers. Let every woman compete for herself without much influence from the outside. Time to sign up! =c3

Exactly my point. She shouldn't have advanced to top 8. The top 8 were decided by beauty of the face.

WE'RE TALKING ABOUT OUR OWN PREFERENCES BUT THE JUDGES WHO JUDGED THE GIRLS UP CLOSE ANDD PERSONAL DID NOT AGREE WITH US. IT IS THEIR CHOICE, THEIR PREFERENCE. BUT I THINK, THEY MADE THE RIGHT DECISION EVEN IF AT FIRST I WAS AGAINST HER VICTORY THE SAME WAY I WAS AGAINST, AT FIRST, OF THE VICTORY OF KATHERINE ESPIN. BUT LOOK KATHERINE NOW. THE JUDGES ARE RIGHT AFTER ALL.

I always have the 'obsession' with very beautiful Egyptian women, so hopefully Egypt will send an ELOQUENT GODDESS in this year's Miss Earth. I personally think that Miss Earth is the 2nd pageant Egypt deserves to win a crown (since they have Miss World already), since they are having a hard time in Miss Universe and International.

Not questionable? She shouldn't have passed the first round where beauty and poise were judged. There were 15 girls prettier than her. You call that fair?

What are you talking about? She didn't placed top 20 in beauty/face but she did in body and brains. Did you watch the preliminaries? and final?

Those who keep ranting about how undeserving Karen is...please stop sounding like broken records. Don’t you get tired of saying the same things. It’s useless to keep pointing them out here because no one amongst us judged that particular night.

The judges were there for all of us to see. We knew of their identities. If you’re so concerned with how they scored the women, I challenge you to reach to them and ask them to explain why. There! Done and over with. >:)

THERE IS A BIG DIFFERENCE THERE. MISS EARTH HAS BOARD OF JUDGES WITH SCORES INPUTTED IN THE COMPUTERS AND TABULATED. LORRAINE IS ONLY ONE VOTE WHEREAS JULIA HAS ALL THE VOTES, NO COMPUTERS AND NO TABULATORS. THERE WAS ONE A WITNESS DURING MISS WORLD 2016 THAT HE SAW JULIA HAVING THAT PIECE OF PAPER WITH WINNERS LISTED ON IT. IF YOU DONT SEE THE BIG DIFFERENCE, HYPOCRISY IS RESIDING IN YOU AND NOT WITH US. [-X [-X :%)) :%))

The same can be said with the opposition, blind naysayers staying blind.

How I wish Paweensuda, my ultimate favorite, was crowned and we could all be happy now. But things have come to past and its one's choice to dwell on it or move on.

I am an environmentalist more than being a pageant fan. And Karen is proving herself as a strong voice for Miss Earth's causes. Apathy and ignorance from the people is what she is trying to combat and she is walking the talk. I guess they made a good choice after all.

Awesome comeback, neon. :=p I love it when an Earthling comes up with a good retort. As opposed to sounding like broken records ;,). I hope you don’t mind me borrowing your quote in the future. :-D
