Miss International Franchise Up for Grabs: 80 delegates!!

The Miss International 2018 competition will be the 58th edition of the annual Big 5 pageant.

En route to the 2020 Olympics and Paralympics, the Miss International Organization, under the auspices of the International Cultural Association, has relayed the message to me that they are increasing the maximum number of contestants this year to 80!

Being the third oldest pageant in the world, joining this pageant does not come with no cost. Naturally, it requires a franchise or license fee, which is probably the most affordable among the major international pageants.

This year, Miss International has set the deadline to August 20th as the last day to apply for the franchise. Please check if your country is here, or if you can recommend someone to get the franchise for the country or territory:

Angola
Austria
Bahamas
Belize
Botswana
Bulgaria
Cambodia
Cameroon
Congo DR
Croatia
Egypt
Estonia
Gabon
Georgia
Germany
Greece
Iceland
Ireland
Israel
Jamaica
Kazakhstan
Kenya
Kyrgyzstan
Laos
Latvia
Liberia
Namibia
Romania
Senegal
Slovenia
Switzerland
Tahiti
Tanzania
Trinidad & Tobago
Turkey
Uruguay
Zambia

The national delegate of Miss International will experience a once in a lifetime opportunity to be able to travel in Japan and meet different kinds of people who may jumpstart her career in the field of advertising, marketing and tourism. One of the prominent product in recent years is Lorena Sevilla, who became the FACE of Panasonic Beauty in Latin America.

I will appreciate it if you can share the email address here for referal, or you can PM me! Thank you very much!!!

Can I just say, if you look closely, most of the countries without a franchise are countries from Africa. The lack of a black African winner is a really REALLY poor marketing issue of this pageant.

This comes to me as a no surprise. So far I could see only 24 delegates still now elected to represent at MI.Only six more countries confirmed their dates. So there. Again MI should restructure itself to accomodate the changing trends. clinging to legacy stuff wont help in the long run as we have other siginificant options nowadays. :)>-

That is very true dear. Hopefully more Africans will join so that the chance of winning is greater. You cannot just crown an African girl because she's black and it's for marketing purposes, right?

Every year it is always like that. Actually, they are lucky to have 24 girls listed as of now at Wikipedia, although the confirmed delegates on my list right now is already 30.

Miss International will have some changes this year! Watch out!!! You will all love it!!!

I like this proposal but there are some problems that need to fix:
1. How we can avoid MI winners from competing at the "bigger" pageants like the case of MI 1986 Helen Fairbrother and MI 2014 Valerie Hernandez?
2. Finding a better finals location and/or TV network for the finals just like AKB48 event that was held in big arena or Venetian Cotai Arena in 2008?

Unfortunately, Greece has only committed to sending women to Miss Universe and Miss World this year. They did say however that the 2nd runner up (third behind Star Hellas and Miss Hellas) could be sent to other pageants so there's still a chance.

The Star Hellas pageant is in October though. When is Miss International this year?

I know that Greece is sending a delegate to Miss Earth in 2019 so I'm pretty confident there will be a Miss Greece International in 2019.

But, I think it was not the MI organization who refused to increase the number to 80, but the lack of franchisee holders in MIO is the reason why it cant increase it to 70+.
Things they need to do ASAP
1. they should check the dictionary and understand the word "change" thoroughly.
2. stop torturing audience with that hours long snoozefest. Infact they can make a change like top 18 then top 9 then top 6 and final three winners from the group.
3. last time they made a welcome change showing diverse judges on the panel but the result was the same. @-) =b
4. realize that franchise holders are not boring as the MIO, and stop milking the ancestry/legacy issues. It wont help. =b
5. realize the danger that some of its queens think it a platform for bigger pageants like Miss Universe and MW. Thats really embarrassing. Ensure a memorable reign for its queen.
6. do a reality check. Six pageants are really popular on the "pageant platform" including MI, where all the other five are doing constructive things to prohibit it from being stagnant. Though we disagree, MGI and MS have already overtaken MI, in terms of production, memorable and productive reign and also on interactive sphere. so think this.
Dont do the mistake by playing deaf to criticism. thats all. And I know Miss International is never gonna change. #:-S :)>-

Why not lower the franchise fee so everybody can afford it.
Also, why not send invitation letter to all Dept. of Tourism of all countries.
Also, please upgrade the Pagent Coronation Night... ITS SO BORING. @-)

Miss Ireland is the only organisation I could imagine getting the licence for Miss International.
Miss Universe Ireland is a great org. but I think the name says it all.

Either of these two would be the only established orgs. in the Republic.
That or a new organisation is started...

Miss International franchise fee is only $2000, and it's being held in one of the MOST EXPENSIVE countries in the world!!! Any woman with a brain would know that it's a bargain!

What are the benefits of competing at Miss International?
1. The organization does not work up the girls. They don't get to spend 90% of their time rehearsing for a one-night show.
2. They travel a lot. Japan Travel Bureau brings them to various exotic places for free!!!
3. They get to eat Japanese cuisine, which is one of the two cuisines recognized by UNICEF as World Heritage Food.
4. They meet Japanese entrepreneurs who are genuinely interested to know about their country! Business owners in Japan are looking for brand ambassadors when they expand abroad.
5. They also get recognized by the government as a tourism ambassador, which they can use as part of their portfolio because they get a certificate duly signed by the tourism minister of Japan!
6. Chances are, they will be chosen as an Olympic ambassador en route to Tokyo 2020! They are actively looking now because next year would be too late!
7. They get the chance to wear $30,000 worth of kimono!!!
.... and a lot more!!!

Man of The World 2017, Mustafa Galal Elezali is rumored (or I think it's confirmed) to be the new national director of Miss Earth Egypt. I think you can also recommend to him to add the Miss International franchise as well. However, if Mustafa will hold both Miss International and Earth pageants, he needs to think of a different name to a pageant (if he will organize), or maybe it's his choice if he will just handpick. I personally think Mustafa is going to be a good national director. So I recommend him to hold Egypt's Miss International franchise.

Or, try to contact Hoda Abboud since she is the national director of Miss Universe Egypt, and she might have larger resources to have the franchise than Mustafa. :)>-

i dont think african should be wasting money, they will never win, in 50+ years the contest have been around no African country has ever won and in recent year the pale white porcelain skin girl wins, so yeah they shouldn't because they don't fit their standard of beauty

Wait the minute.. Miss World and Miss Universe also not much crowning black africans.
MW had one Black African winner thats Nigeria MW 2001. Miss Universe also one black African winner thats Angola 2011.
Since MI is the youngest among them, there's always a room for improvement, MIO won't crown Black African woman to satisfy some egos.

Yeah Patience is a Virtue, btw South Africa send a Stunner Black Beauty to MI this year, Who knows she could Surpass MI Kenya 2015 who finished 2nd ru.

I have to agree with novemberRain.
All of the major pageants waste beautiful black ladies, year in, year out. Miss International isn't the exception here, it seems to be the rule. In fact, it seems almost every year Miss World has a token black girl in the Top 5, rather than just crowning her. I would have loved to have Dom. Republic win Miss World in 2016 but she finished 1st Runner-Up instead.

Personally I think it is a mixture of pandering to the 'right countries' ie. Philippines, Venezuela, USA, Colombia, Thailand etc. each year mixed with a lack of training that holds back African girls each year. Europe actually suffers from this too, atleast since the end of the 20th Century. No interest in pageantry with no preparation means they can't place. I don't doubt that prejudice plays a role too, but I just don't think it is the main focal point in the decision-making process.

If there is no representation from African nations, how will they ever win ?
