Miss Brasil Earth started as Beleza Brasil in 2001 under Beauty Productions Brazil Ltda. from 2001–2007. The first titleholder of the pageant was
Simone Régis, who was crowned Beleza Brasil 2001. She went to represent her country in the first edition of Miss Earth in the Philippines where
she won the Miss Air crown. Under Beauty Productions, Brazil produced it's first Miss Earth through Priscilla Meirelles - Miss Earth 2004. Then the
pageant changed its name again in 2008 to Miss Terra Brasil under the new organization, the Look Top Beauty Productions led by José Alonso Dias
from Minas Gerais. On it's second year of holding the franchise, Brazil once again, crowned Miss Earth for 2009 through Larissa Ramos. These two
organizations has cemented Brazil as a powerhouse country in Miss Earth with 1 Top 8 placement, 7 elemental crowns and 2 Miss Earth titleholders.
Though very successful in Miss Earth, we can't deny the fact that the Miss Earth brand in Brazil is becoming stagnant. In the recent years, most of
the girls being sent to Miss Earth were appointed. It was year 2013 when LTBP last conducted a pageant. And so, to make the brand "more felt" in
Brazil, Carousel Productions assigned the franchise to a new holder.
This year, Mr. Ric Monteverde, a Portuguese businessman who also currently holds the Miss Earth franchise for Portugal, together with Leticia Silva -
Miss Earth Brazil 2014, were given the rights by Carousel Productions to organize a pageant solely for Miss Earth. They are currently looking for state
directors, some were already confirmed and will conduct their own state pageants. Some states have already their own representatives. The pageant
will be held sometime in September. Who will replace Bruna Zanardo as the new Miss Brasil Earth? Find out soon and follow this thread for updates!
