Ms World 2019: An Addendum

Postby beautywatchnyc » Tue Jul 11, 2017 1:23 pm

The move to bring MsW 2019 to the Philippines is viewed keenly as a business venture which will be undertaken solely through private initiatives.

In retrospect, Vegafria's new team came up with a hosting plan requiring government support primarily for in-house security and safety protocols that are deemed indispensable throughout. Know that Miss World Philippines wasn't lobbying for government spending but rather seeking DOTs endorsement of the project proposal for Malacanang approval.

MW2019 is envisioned to take-off under the auspices of generous sponsors, donors with proven repute, and wealthy citizens who have agreed to bankroll the project. I don't get the qualified opposition and rant when no evidence of direct government funding was solicited.

Oppositionists should loosen up and isolate the debilitating issue of hate. Why? Because we are a gentle people richly endowed with a forgiving psyche. Basic goodness resides in every Pinoy's heart. Honor and pride are inherent within us Pinoys. Those add up!

In the immediate term, Madame Morley cannot be expected to say "sorry I was responsible for Catriona's loss". As a strategist and master planner with a burgeoning business empire to boost (some would claim philanthropic interest!), Julia shall opt, one way or another, for conciliatory amends. When and how it's gonna come, no one can tell for sure. So sad for Cat Gray to have been cast as a sacrificial lamb. But that is water under the bridge already. She is young perchance Cat is destined for bigger achievements in the years ahead! Moving on is no easy way but the better alternatives are few and far between.

The MW pageant presents an opportunity to showcase the gem of the Philippines which, to my mind, is no other than the Filipinos themselves. Doubtless, the show will feature our diverse, unique cultural heritage, beautiful sceneries, indigenous sounds and evolving cuisine. In like manner, the iconic Filipino organizational talent that is widely acknowledged throughout the world will factor in.

A false sense of pride will not help the cause. It's time to cast off our misplaced bravado or braggadocio to oblivion. World-class Filipino girls with the winning attributes aspire to be crowned Ms World. It isn't fair to deprive our competitive girls of this opportunity.

For the above reasons, hosting Ms World 2019 promises invaluable benefits in return!

ROIs? Revenues or no returns, as long as no extra government spending is involved, let Vegafria and company worry about cost-and-profit ratios. If CQGQ had managed to mount Miss World Philippines through six years of bleeding, but with a pinnacle of one crown, I think that Arnold and his Team can manage a re-invented Miss World Philippines on their own terms.

I'm a huge supporter of beauty pageants regardless of stature. They entertain immensely at no cost to our own pockets. Besides, the beauty pageant pie is quite large to share. Never mind the ratings, the hierarchy or ranking, they come secondary.

After all the hard work and effort, win or lose, the girls are compensated with the joy of a lifetime experience.

My take. Let's hear yours?

Miss Universe 2016 failed to showcase the beautiful culture/tradition/sceneries of the Philippines in its final show.

Miss World can definitely do this...all we have to do is to FORGIVE and give Julia Morley another chance.

We can proved that our country can be a best hospitality to the 100-130 girls at Miss World 2019 but the big question remain, will the deep wound heal just like the situation at Asia's Next Top Model right now?

Ms World 2019 presents an opportunity to mend the rift and heal the wound. We cannot be forever hateful. It brings bad karma. How long do you think can we last basking under false pretenses? Fake pride? I can see no taker nor winner in that, either way!

One of those chips that Miss World Philippines need to bargain for. Miss World Philippines can work on the leverages that will benefit the country as host for 2019. Opportunities are hard to come by again like those that we've missed in MsU 2016 edition. This time around, it is hoped that the reinvented Miss World Philippines can plug the loopholes and straighten out the ineptitude resulting from the gaffes of the 2016 MsU hosting in the country.

See below in her latest pic and trip how she is so UNPRETTY. Not a pinch of MW material in her.
Well, she's a product of fraud!

Well its hard, im still bleeding on how we pageant fans were disappointed with the finals of Miss Universe 2016. 1974 and 1994 Edition is indeed a hard feat to follow.. In case of MW 2019 lets see if they can get sponsors. I want them to showcase the real beauty of the Philippines,

All is not lost. DOT must have learned their lessons well. And will rectify whatever was omitted in the MsU 2016 staging. As I said if MW 2019 is coming to Manila, Vegafria nd company can exploit the opportunity to turn the tides in our favor. They need to do their homework and lay all their cards on the table during negotiation stage.

I think the local organizer is on the right track with his plans. Demonstrate that he can make the local search grand and show the world that he could be such a great national director that the cooking master becomes threatened that she would lose a great ally in her endeavor if she doesn't give the Philippines the proper treatment it deserves!

On a serious note, Miss World Philippines has been bleeding for years on end. It could have suffered an early demise had it not been for Arnold Vegafria's vision to bring the Philippines back in the MW map. Mounting a pageant of this magnitude requires resources and Arnold certainly cannot afford to do that on his own. So with a good public relations team, and an extensive network of friends in high places, he took the challenge with fervor. I hope he succeeds. It's not really a baptism of fire for Vegafria because he has exposure to the industry and passion for pageants. Besides Vegafria comes highly recommended to MW Julia Morley by the former CQGQ ND Cory Quirino. Funds remain his most important challenge but with sponsorships coming from well-intentioned citizens I think that Miss World Philippines is moving in the right direction.

If there will be 100-130 contestants in Miss World, it's like the same number of countries competing in the Olympics. If the Philippines will be the host in 2019, The Philippines is an outright winner to be chosen from hundreds of countries and territories contained throughout the world.

I still dont want Miss World to happen in the Philippines. It took 60 years for aunt julia to say my favorite country coz shes jealous that philippines is a miss universe country. Shes the one who has the grudge on us and she took it more deeper last year. Im one of those people... Well like venezuela, they dont need to host a pageant to win it. For tourism, nah i really dont think it made a huge impact after we hosted it. We need better transportations on how to reach these beautiful islands in the philippines. Not all are into extreme travels. My friend who is not a pinoy went to palawan but he went to the other part where its easy to access. He said that its a plane ride and another 4hrs drive to reach the other resort. No i cant deal with that. Its like going to vegas from LA.

On the other hand, i want Phil to host Miss International but this time classy with a flair. Lets focus on the pageants that matter to us. Miss World is like Miss Intercontinental i see no difference except production but the choosing of winners are also dubious. And, in case Catriona will win Miss Universe you will never hear the end of MASSIVE hate that MW will get from pinoys. :%))

:=p I read the same suggestion from another poster. I think if there's another pageant that deserves the Philippines' attention, it's Miss International. And the Philippines could certainly add life into its boring ceremony -- something exciting to look forward to.

For tourism, nah i really dont think it made a huge impact after we hosted it. We need better transportations on how to reach these beautiful islands in the philippines. We'll we cannot stay on island of isolation forever. Except for that infamous apartheid year where a Pinay delegate withdrew, Filipinos are a fun-loving lot and did participate in all Ms World editions despite perceived discrimination and unfair treatment. We have "conquered" Ms U 3x times in more than half a century of franchising. The last six years proved to be a boon as our girls were called in the circle of Ms U finalists. Lest we forget, there's a string of top placements garnered by our girls in the Ms U stage in a span of 60 years. Not bad!

Quo vadis Ms World? Similarly, we can achieve something like that in Ms World if we persist. We cannot pull out only to rejoin later. That would be embarrasing and will reflect negatively on our image because after all Ms W is still a competition. There will always be a winner. No pain, no glory.

CQGC leadership has produced a winner and few decent finalist placements. There was the triad of Manalo-Bautista-Yunon that put the Philippines in Ms W map in recent memory. There's hope.

It will serve to know the leadership of Vegafria and Company will work to that end, one can never tell when the wheels of fortune will roll in favor of the Philippines once again. It's better to look at the glass half full than the one half-empty.

Truth? Whether or not you will approve, there are wealthy private citizens who can provide funds even for a pageant where Filipinas are discriminated against. It seems strange that these benefactors are willing to lose fortunes in something decadent as a beauty pageant. It behooves that private interests differ largely from public spending even if the latter designates the common good.

Different pokes for different strokes. Fact!

Although I'm not a fan of the world's biggest cookfest, I applaud Mr. Vegafria's efforts and hopes he finds fulfillment in what he'll do, at the very least locally. As could be seen from Ms. Quirino's accomplishments, even amidst the debacle with Catriona Gray's placement, Ms. Quirino has created her own "brand" of queens that people respect: lovely, sophisticated, and articulate. No "thesis beauties" in all the years she handled the franchise.

I understand what you mean. I remember Philippines had been sending reps since the beginning of time. I just don't want the country to host it just to get attention by that Julia. Venezuela and other countries has won without hosting it. I dont want it to be like China and what they're preparing for Indonesia right now. There's so many countries that has won this without too much effort and kissasing. I just want it like what it was before. We send girls and that's it. I already resigned to the fact that her pageant is not for us and winning 1 crown is enough. Maybe its true that many wealthy filipinos that are willing to provide funds but will it be audience free? I think it will be disappointing to see that only a handful you see in the audience because its not as popular as Miss Universe. We already see how Pia was well received compared to Megan during their homecoming parade.

Same sentiments here. This website will be very difficult to navigate should that happen! Pandemonium breaks loose and that would be a real treat!

I feel you. The optimist in me feels the excitement in what and how the events will unfold if MsW2019 does happen in Philippine shores. Maybe Vegafria has outlined an impeccable array of plans to drum beat Miss World Philippines marketing and sales pitches. A host of maybe's that could or may not happen at all. Blast or otherwise still the competition will be there when it happens.
