Project: Children for Earth
<Creating the environmental care consciousness for the youth>
Principle:
Global warming refers to an average increase in the Earth's temperature, which in turn causes changes in climate. A warmer Earth may lead to changes in rainfall patterns, a rise in sea level, and a wide range of impacts on plants, wildlife, and humans. When scientists talk about the issue of climate change, their concern is about global warming caused by human activities. (The increase in anthropogenic greenhouse gas concentrations) One of the major causes of this could be attributed to deforestation, which is spreading all the way to the riverhead area.
Global warming becomes a very important issue of the earth. Therefore, we all should help reducing the greenhouse gas together, by launching the “Reforestation to reduce global warming” project. This project is aiming to increase the amount of green area in the certain territory in order to absorb the carbon dioxide and to produce more oxygen, thus reducing global warming.
Noandindaeng district, Bureeram province, is one of the important ecological area of Thailand. Most of the area is covered with tropical rainforest, which is considered the last abundant forest of the Bureeram province. There are some major river sources in the area such as; Lamnangrong and Lamplaimas stream. These river sources flow through Bureeram and the nearby provinces, aiding the people of the area for ages. The forest’s nature used to be considered highly abundant in term of resources and wildlife. Nowadays, the forest area is quickly reducing due to many activities caused by human, especially the deforestation for land development to use for personal agricultural purpose.
In order to create an environmental care consciousness, and reinvigorate Noandindaeng’s forest, MISS THAILAND EARTH group launched the “Children for the Earth” project.
