EQUATORIAL GUINEA TO TAKE PART IN MISS UNIVERSE 2012
On October 12, our country celebrated the 43rd anniversary of national independence. Bata was the focus of this festival, during which Lidia Avomo was proclaimed winner of Miss Equatorial Guinea 2011. The first runner-up was Constancia Memba from Malabo and Esperanza Consuelo Ndong, representative of Centro Sur, was chosen as the second runner-up.
Judith Nfono Ngomo, national director of the international beauty contests and instructor of the seven finalists of the last competition, and also director of the fashion agency Afro-Fashion, spoke with reporters from http://www.guineaecuatorialpress.com about the election of the current beauty queen and her projects. Nfono Ngomo has been designated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Local Corporations to instruct the seven candidates who took part in the Miss Equatorial Guinea pageant 2011
Judith says she is very satisfied with the election of Lydia, because she believes she is eligible and because her character has also contributed to her election.
When asked if our country could participate in the upcoming Miss Universe competition, Judith recalled that Equatorial Guinea has not yet been in the election of Miss Universe. But, after mentioning that the last Miss Universe is an African, specifically, the Angolan Leila da Costa Vieira Lopes, Judith believes that her victory has been an inspiration. Therefore, the director of the international beauty contest has not hesitated and has sent the request to participate so that our country can compete in the next Miss Universe competition.
