In Japan's case, she rehearsed her speech and it was 20-second (without disecting it per translation). But Sushrii's speech was more than two minutes long that is why the emcee even reprimanded her for that. She was winning it, until that moment. And sadly, the Philippines' was forced to speak within 20 seconds including the translation! That's really harsh! And lastly, Brazil did not have a translator for her Portuguese speech, yet she won. So overall, it's really about the girls' beauty and presentation that mattered in the end. The Top 3 were indeed the prettiest faces. I must say that the judges' overall decision was right!
And to those who are saying that Japan is being hyped, NO, she was not being hyped. I shared her photos in this thread because I support her. I never said that she MUST win or even place in the Top 5 or what not. So please, review your English vocabulary and check the meaning of the word "hype"...
Although a pretty face does not make the best contestant overall, I don't think the top 3 were the prettiest faces as you mentioned. Paraguay and Colombia, very striking as a whole, do not have the prettiest faces. I personally prefer the faces of Argentina y Venezuela for example. Brazil is very pretty indeed but I can't understand the judging without the translation. Do all judges speak portuguese? Her body not in the best shape, but overall ok. Disappointed once again with this pageant, but I understand is a minor one and my standards might be to high for it. Good luck to all the winners and finalists.
