Cory Quirino should send the US-based Filipina winner of Mutya 2019 Tyra Goldman to compete in Vietnam. Last time we heard, Mdm. Cory was looking for the appropriate pageant where Ms Goldman (who got dethroned due to dual citizenship issues) can be fielded. Mutya 2019 Ms Goldman's runner-up Cyrille Payumo took over and recently won Ms Tourism Queen Int'l. in Malaysia.

Cash prize is impressive, though.

This pageant will bury Dumbwat’s obscure pageant to the grave where it belongs!
=D> =D> =D>

A lot of promising and BigFour calibre contestants!
I just hope that they will change the pageant title to a more unique one like Miss Galaxy or Miss Milky Way, since it’s where some former candidates of Miss Universe, MW, ME, MI meets.

Miss Charm International is set to bring international calibre pageantry by giving high world class production and entertainment value, high stake prize ($50,000) and very competitive pageant scoring system. It also offers a chance to other candidates who failed to advance on their national or international pageants because of lack of experience and support.
National organizations and directors of Miss Charm are given a free hand to choose who and what they think is best to represent thier brand and country because sometimes a good candidate in a national level may never have a chance to compete at any major and BIG 5 Pageant.
And lastly, Miss Charm International will do its best to field quality and competitive candidates to make it one of the most competitve international pageant in the world.

Miss Galaxy, Miss Milky Way and Miss Cosmos have all been taken for years now. I think this is the reason why the organisers settled with Miss Charm International. On the other hand, the word "International" has been so overused already in pageant circuits that it confuses us most of the time and cheapens our impression of some pageant organisations. I think the organisers of Miss Charm International need to get rid of "International" and replace it with something else that still connotes a worldwide competition. I will fully support this pageant because it is brand new. By the way, what is the platform of this pageant? BPCI needs to get the franchise of this brand new pageant in lieu of that obscure pageant from Thailand where its contract with BPCI had just been concluded recently.

It's actually known as "Princess Kay Of The Milky Way" pageant that is organized by the Midwest Dairy Association in the United States since 1954. During a titleholder's one-year term, the Princess Kay Of The Milky Way serves as the official good-will ambassador for the Minnesota dairy industry. Every year at the Minnesota State Fair, a Princess is crowned and receives a scholarship. The annual coronation of Princess Kay actually garners a media coverage in Minnesota.

Regarding Miss Galaxy, I am not quite sure if they had an international level for a pageant competition. However, I saw on their webpage a Miss Galaxy International event. Here is the link:

He seems to have more than enough money to waste. If he were smart, though, he’d invest them in more “micro” pageants that would yield better results than his flopping effort at Julia’s cooking festival.

Let's just hope and pray that Vegafria's efforts will be rewarded by Morley this time because as a national director, Vegafria did work hard to stage the Mr World 2019 pageant in the Philippines to test the market if the Philippines were ready for staging Miss World in the future. Since it was a well-attended event by contestants worldwide, then we could all consider it to be a successful endeavour by our Miss World Philippines organisation. Although the seats weren't as jampacked as those at Miss Universe, however, it was still a well-attended event considering the fact that Philippines is a Miss Universe country and the occasion was for a male pageant competition. Inasmuch as I do not like the politics behind Miss World, however, I do not want that our country burns its bridges behind this organisation because whether we all like it or not, Miss World is Miss World. The more we attack it, the more our candidates suffer their losses in this pageant. Majority of us do not like how the Miss World system selects their winner because we do not see any consistency in their criteria and I do not think that only we, Filipinos, notice this. I also believe that other countries share the same sentiments like us. However, we can always agree to disagree with intelligence. We can all be vigilant about this pageant every year; heck, we can always dislike this pageant at any given time but then again, we all must do it with intelligence and wisdom so as not to jeopardise the chances of our Philippine candidates to this pageant. Let's do how the Italians do it: "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer."

There once was a Ms Charm International hosted by Thailand in the mid 80's. The Philippines fielded its first delegate (a Ms Milagros Gurierrez?) who was adjudged 2nd runner-up on that year. Ms Gutierrez was supposed to be followed by Ms Ma. Isabel Seva, Mdm, Stella's girl of choice from Bacolod but the pageant did not materialize even as early as its second year. I have no clue as to why. I have no idea if the pageant that Vietnam is staging for 2020 has anything to do with its older Thai counterpart. Can someone stand up and clarify if he/she has background info on this new development.

Let's all support this brand new pageant, guys. Having a brand new pageant every year is actually a good sign because it means that business is booming in the pageant industry. "The more, the merrier!", as they say. Adding a brand new pageant each year creates more job opportunities to pageant trainers, make-up artists, fashion designers, costume makers, pageant organisers, national directors and most of all, provides more avenues for pageant candidates to get their experience. In return, it also makes us, pageant fans, wiser in our choices because we become more discerning of our candidate where to field her to which pageant based on the nature and criteria set forth by a pageant organisation.

A lot of promising and BigFour calibre contestants!
I just hope that they will change the pageant title to a more unique one like Miss Galaxy or Miss Milky Way, since it’s where some former candidates of Miss Universe, MW, ME, MI meets.

:-j

I thought the same, Miss Milky Way sounds unique. The current name is so....meh

What about Miss Continental? or Miss Hemisphere?

Continental implies one continent only. While Hemisphere implies half of the world only.

I think all the unique and possible pageant titles are already used.
