It only means that the pageant does not base solely on the physical aspect, but on the capability to carry out the pageant's advocacy which is Environmental Care and Protection; unlike some pageants I know that copies even the format of Miss Universe, but has no clear purpose or advocacy....just saying...

This makes sense now, why many weak sash countries enter the semis its because of the continental placement as mentioned in another thread.

Update: Côte d'Ivoire & Myanmar are added to the list of countries who placed Miss Earth at least once.

94 countries and territories (including the non-existed countries Yugoslavia and Serbia & Montenegro) placed at Miss Earth at least once.
