Every woman must look at Queen Emanii and realize that if she puts her heart and soul into her dreams - she can achieve two or more dreams at same time!
Reflection: I never really get too excited when I accomplish a goal because I’ve always felt as If my dreams were my duty and I’d never stop dreaming. People told me, “it’s going to be hard,” “you might want to take the semester off and focus on the pageant.” “You might need to dismiss your work as a title holder and focus on school.” I heard it all. I graduated from undergrad as Miss Georgia USA and I’ll graduate with my Masters as Miss Earth Air. I’m proud, but I don’t do it for myself. I do it for my family and for my future family because a child who has a parent with a degree is more likely to follow suit and further their education—and so on and so on. My life has always been about breaking chains and now I’ll be able to give children who look like me genuine support and representation of black excellence within the school system. It’s about the vision, the dedication, and the ability to reach back and grab the next. We can only build together and I was able to be who I am today because so many arms reached back to grab me. This is about passion, culture, love, dreams, pain, struggle and adversity but most importantly this is about you. Be the best you so that you too can keep the movement going and grab the next. Thank you to my family, friends and mentors who have shaped my life, I’m forever in your debt. Thank you.
P.S CONGRATS 2020 GRADS!!!!
