How would you answer the final question at Miss Earth 2019?

Postby ajsy0203 » Sun Oct 27, 2019 1:18 pm

Here is the final question at Miss Earth 2019:
There are many people, including some notable international leaders, who still don't believe in climate change. How would you convince them of the seriousness of this problem?

If Miss Earth 2020 will use this throwback question instead of hashtag interpretation for Earth Talks, how would you answer this question?

I have an answer on my mind but it might stir a bit of controversy. Lol.

I would've said that they should not be in denial of the existence of climate change. Science backed up this phenomenon and if we don't change our thoughts and lifestyle, it will worsen. Don't they see the change of temperature and ice melting in the Arctic? Those polar bears are the preview of humanity if we don't change climate change.
Miss Earth is Miss Earth. Nothing can beat that. Deal with it.

Experience is the best teacher. By immersing themselves to places that are hard-hit by the effect of climate change, they would have a first-hand experience of the seriousness of the matter. It would open their eyes to realities and make them believe that there is a global climate problem that needs immediate attention and resolution.

Mas ganito ang sagot the salitang "immersion". For example, Puerto Rico can say she can bring the leader Trump to her island and let him experience the effects of the hurricane so he can experience the bad impact of climate change.

I love the immersion thing. Are they going to experience the anger of Mother Earth before they open their eyes?
