New Japanese Era, somewhat "new" Miss International format

On May 1st, Emperor Akihito stepped down from the chrysanthemum throne and handed over the role of Emperor to his first born son Naruhito. 30 years of Heisei Era had ended, and the new era, Reiwa, has started!

A lot of new beginnings and changes are happening in Japan. In the world of pageantry, some changes are also happening. Miss Universe Japan, to be held on August 22nd is getting rid of the prefecture's sashes, while Miss Supranational Japan is going to happen in August 25th (instead of the traditional May 6th which they have been doing for past three consecutive years). The selection of the 2020 Miss International Japan will be held AFTER the Miss International pageant, which will be the first time since 2014. Meanwhile, Miss World Japan have started with their own version of regional contests en route to the national finals, which will be held on August 27th. MUJ, MSJ and MWJ will be a few days apart! Miss Earth Japan is the only pageant that will be happening in the same way that they have done in the past two years.

As for the Miss International pageant, there will be some minor changes in the pageant format that are expected to happen! What will they be? We will soon find out!
(Hint: things will be shaken up in order to cut the showtime into three hours)...

Hope they do the selection of would be quarter-finalists in a preliminary competition held separately from the final's night. Last year was a head scratcher forcing us to follow two swimsuit rounds of competition =O/ =O/ =O/

Awww.. i hope all candidates will still have thr chabce to ramp in swimsuit because that Makes Miss I uniquely miss international. Maybe they can make the presentation quicker instead. For example national costume competition can be done before the finals so opening number can be quick ( somehow like Miss universe wherr candidates will only get ibtroduced quickly in their costumes). That will shorten the nc part to abt 10 mins or less and livelier. And then evening gown and swimsuit rounds can be like miss international 2006 where presentation was done per group and fast phasing. Then top 15 and top 8 just like last year.

Would the Evening Gown presentation for best dresser include all the candidates then?

The Best Dresser Award will be given to the finalist who is best dressed from the moment she stepped into Japan, up to the final night. That's one aspect that the previous hosts failed to explain during the final gala.

I hope the cuts are based on number of participants from each region, this way africans will not get ignored. There are 16 africans participating this year. If the total number of delegates reaches upto say 85, then there will be atleast 2-3 places.

The proper New era in Miss International would be crowning an AFrican.. This year plethora of African beauties. Xamurai u can finally stop saying that Africa didnt send beautiful girls.
