This year, Miss International has set the deadline to August 20th as the last day to apply for the franchise. Please check if your country is here, or if you can recommend someone to get the franchise for the country or territory:

Miss International Chile is going to be chosen on July 8th!!

The franchise holder is venezuelan Giselle da Costa and her company Neomodel; they are in charge of the franchise since last year

Well, they aren't really crowning black girls at all, African descent or not. Black girls, not mulattas nor morenas like Jeymy Vargas or Elizabeth Coelho, or PR 2014.

The winners also come from a predictable circle. I mean true, Venezuela and Philippines deserve their crowns but it has gone sooo predictable. Don't just diversify the finalist, diversify the winner's circle as well. Over the past 2 decades, the crown only left Latin America and Philippines thrice! Lebanon, Poland and Spain were the only wins in Europe during 2002, 2001 and 2008. Crowning Indonesia is a good move for them, but is Kevin really utilizing her reign, and is she being utilized by the org?

It's not about entirely about crowning a black candidate from Africa, its more to do with diversity.

Aside from that, the winner rarely travels and is not given recognition abroad. If they let their queens travel and be given appearances like the Emmy's and Cannes experience of Jenny and Stephania, or travel to at least regular visits like Miss Earth's US, Reunion, Mexico, these could also be used as marketing not just for the winner, but for the brand and the pageant itself.

Miss International is actually very diverse and unpredictable. Come on! Last year was the ONLY time that Missosology was able to predict correctly the winner. =;))
Look closely the Top 5 or Top 3 of MI. Can you say the same with the Top 4 of, let's say, Miss Earth during the last 10 years? As far as I can remember, the last time that a black girl made it into the Top 4 of Miss Earth was in 2008, yet no one says something about it! Miss World has not crowned a black woman since 2001 either! But even then, Agbani looks like a mullata. Counting the mulattas, since 2004, MI has crowned three of them, and a Top 2 finish of mulattas even happened in 2014.
As to those who keep on arguing that an African MUST win... Please, tell me, how many Africans are joining every year? Name ONE African who should have won the crown, that MI rejected? Please post your comment here!

At least put 01 Beautiful Black Girl Candidate in the top 5 of each of the
Big pageants i.e. Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss Earth, Miss International EVERY YEAR.
This will show and proves that Beauty Pageants are not limited and biased on skin color.

Might not happen, Miss Earth is very racist against blacks as evident with the 2017 edition.

Same but just to see one of our beautiful runners-up competing but I don't think it will happen, MFO doesn't care IMO and the franchise is in the hands of Bruno Lestienne (Miss International France).

They should change the whole system first.

Like Miss World is a snoozefest, but MI took it to a higher level.

Been dreaming for this change ever since I was a child hahha. But I hope not too much change. I remember the 2010 and 2011 edition in china and they were so different from the traditional miss international and I didnt like them. the 2009 edition was perfect though. Almost.

But how will they present all the 80 delegates in national costume, swimsuit and gowns without spending too much time? the current system is already dragging but we watch it just because it is miss international.. Hopefully they still present all the candidates in all 3 segments ( I think miss international is the only pageant that still does this, all the others will only show the semi finalists). But I hope they dont take too much time. For example the national costume can be recorded only and candidates can dance and sing while wearing it it the opening but no need to ramp individually.. in swimwear maybe they can make it fast and by group just like in 2006. Same with Gowns.

and then they can do the semi finals like last year.. top 15 but only the top 8 will have a speech. There must be a timer on speech. they alrady prepared and its just a speech so that should be easy.

Just like in Miss Universe, national costume can be pre-recorded and will be shown during the candidates introduction just like in the below video. Meanwhile, only those who reach the top 20 will do the swimsuit and evening gown... Ohhh debahhh may scores pa kaya sure na
walang dayaan gaya ng mess world =;)) =;)) =;)) =;)) =;)) =;)) =;)) =;)) >:) >:) >:)

Absolutely, I want our runner-up to go to Earth/Supra/International like they used to! As respectful as I try to be, the other national orgs are so not having the quality the MFO has!

Exactly, the other national organizations have got poor quality girls. At first, there was a good level at Miss Prestige National, I remember candidates who had the level but frankly in recent years it is horror. The candidates are incredibly banal or unpleasant to look at. I must say that previously, there was a real rivalry between Miss France and Miss Prestige National, which no longer exists. I think it attracted girls to register...and back then there was an effect "Geneviève de Fontenay". Now, Geneviève has left the pageantry world. When I looked at the candidates of Miss Prestige National 2018, I was shocked, there were none that would have done well in an international competition. All plainer than the others, there were even several who were real jokes. It didn't look like a beauty contest at all! and I do not even mention other national pageants like Miss International France which collects average girls. Since the Miss France organization dropped the Miss International, Miss Supranational and Miss Earth licenses, none of the girls sent pleased me, except for Océane Pernodet, Miss Supranational France 2016 and also Miss Globe 2015 fourth runner-up. C'est d'autant plus rageant quand on voit ces belles dauphines de Miss France laissées sur le carreau...

I remember the 2008 Miss International production was solely managed by Hong Kong TVB and Macau. The individual evening gown parade was cut and they straight announced the Top 12, then some weird hip-hop dancing of the semifinalists, then they announced the final 5 in Qi Pao.

Of course, 2009-2011 managed to have a decent stage when it was in Chengdu.

The fact that I have read valuable inputs in this thread makes me feel that there is this certain amount of love and concern for Miss International.

Japan is a very unique country. Its unique character as defined by their patience and resilience did not leave the MI system. It is totally unfazed by outside pressure and remain true to its system through the years.

This year, MIO will try to incorporate a few changes into the selection process, that will also affect the flow of the final night. They are pretty much aware that their show is a snoozefest, so to speak. It's probably a Guinness World Record holder now. But MI is MI... It will not imitate any other pageant because it is strong and confident in its own identity.

Out of the topic, but since this is Miss International, and there are some 'strong' countries who doesn't have their girl yet,

I do hope Paweensuda Drouin joins Miss International Thailand. The way she carries herself will be a perfect Miss International. Full of class that Japanese will really appreciate. Yes, the girl screams Miss Universe or World in terms of beauty and communication skills, but I would love to see her being the very first Thai Miss International. 3 years in a row that SEA will dominate MI.

If my country has Kylie Verzosa, Thailand has Fahsai. I can see their similarity, to be honest. After the success of Punika in 2014, I believe Fahsai will be that one Thai woman who will finally clinch the Miss International crown for the country. I will definitely root for her if she joins MI Thailand and win the crown.

Thanks to Missosology, MI was able to reach 77 contestants this year, which is the highest number of turnout in history! If only the delegates from Sierra Leone and Nigeria did not have visa issues, and for Belarus not to call it quits at the very last minute, we could have reached the target!

By the way, Cambodia got turned down because the national director was sending the 1st Runner-up of Miss Gwand Cambodia to the pageant. Per MI principle, that is not acceptable.

Runner-up to Miss Universe or Miss World YES! Because these two are older pageants than MI.
The girls DID NOT stand up for five hours on stage. They had more time backstage than on stage.
However, I have to say that the damn show was tooooooooo long!!!
