Why MI did not air on Philippine TV since 2006?

Postby ajsy0203 » Sun Apr 01, 2018 10:40 pm

Since 2015, Miss International pageant did not air on any Japanese TV stations anymore because of alleged bad reputation of Japanese TV stations that ICA think it may destroyed their dignity according to XAMURAI. But even worse that after Precious Lara Quigaman's victory at MI 2005, the pageant did not air on Philippine television anymore since then. Normally this pageant aired in the past despite it was a delayed telecast. In your opinion why do you think Miss International will not air on television anymore unless new pageant organizers will step in?

I think it is because Filipinos are very techno-savvy especially the young ones that anything about Miss International can easily be live-streamed from any social media app, that's probably why.

to be honest beks.. no one cares..d
kc commercial bankable ang ms.international.. maybe organizer didnt get much sponsor from other countries lalo n dito s pinas.. although ito un pageant n may pinaka marami taung titles at placements n nkuha..
d p rin cy click s masa.. lalo n s tv stations ntin..

reality check lng..un lng tlga ang rason dun..

plus the pageant itself is too conservative s panlasa ng lahat.. mkikita yan s run ng programs nila.. very simple.. at naayon sa tradition at culture ng japan.. d ganun ka extravagant o festives kgya sa western cultures un pageant.. and lastly, its done in their language.. kailangan p tlga ng interpreter / translation ng languages(vice versa)..
i thank you...

MI should start listen to fans
the pageant is boring to death
I just wish that all the officers/ Board of Trustees of the pageant (if any) shall resign and die of old age already para ma revamp na yan!

In the 80's and 90's MI aired on IBC or RPN and they are willing to air even if it was a delayed telecast but in this generation it seemed that no Philippine TV station is willing to air the pageant.

Wala sigurong makuhang sponsor sa TV at super boring naman talaga kasi yung program format ng Miss International, but at least we have to be grateful and be thankful to them, dahil marami ng kandidatang Pinay ang nanalo ng MI crown.

Some of the netizens and journalists in the past said that MI was the most fair competition among the international pageants but in recent times things apparently left behind against some minor international pageants when it comes to other aspects.

To answer your question, at para manahimik na rin ang mga nagtataray,

Miss International changed their production as they years went by. To be honest, the production went super downgrade comparing the 80's and 90's production to those of 2000's until today. It's quite surprising for me because it is hosted by the same country, JAPAN. I wonder why MI went downhill when it comes to production. Cost? Maybe. But seriously, they should bring back the 80's-90's production.
Same thing goes to Miss World. MWO used to have a production almost similar to Miss Universe during the 80's and 90's but it turned to be a graduation ceremony in the recent years. Quite weird.

Because the broadcasting rights is not for sale!

The 2005 pageant was edited in a rush because GMA 7 wanted to air it on a delayed basis. That's Miss International in a nut shell!

PS: How many pageants out there can survive even without selling the broadcasting rights?

Dati nanood ako ng MI sa TV pero ngayon (like SBN21, IBC, Phoenix TV [cable]) ay iba na ang naging tono ng TV networks kaya't hindi na ito na-ere since 2006?

TBH I think MI does not even care if they are televised or not. They are a one of a kind pageant and does not follow trend or what not! Also, IMO about 98% of their winners are gorgeous and that alone is one of their legacies.

Miss International is :hx :hx :hx :hx :hx
