I think this is Trump's version of "audience participation" to earn more $$$ and invite more traffic to the MUO website, but it seems that doing away with the Fan Votes is on the list of a lot of people's wishes for Miss Universe...

2. No more Trump cards. Let all the girls have a level playing field and earn their spot fair and square. Trump cards get a free pass either because Trump has a woody for them or for political reasons/favors. This does so much damage to the credibility of Miss Universe

3. Bring back the top 3 and ask these 3 all the same question. I liked the old format where two were put in the sound proof booth while the third answered the question. This way we can compare answers to the same question and more clearly determine the winner. It's also more exciting.

If there are no Trump Cards then we will see again a repeat of Miss Universe 2004 where host politics forced MUO to insert some undeserving Latinas and leave those deserving ones clapping in the background.

Plus, MUO should investigate the credibility of the final night judges. We have seen during the '80's and 90's how one or two judges scores one particular girl related to the judge's country and score the truly deserving one very low. Maybe, that fishy character of judges prompted Miss Universe not to televise the scores anymore...

What I liked about the telecast scores was the accountability of each judge. If I remember correctly, didn't they cancel out the highest and lowest scores for each contestant, so that extreme figures (i.e., biased judges :%)) ) didn't affect the average? They could still do that today.

I'd like a Top 20 (that should "hook in" more interest from viewers from different countries); just don't follow the Miss USA 2014 format (choppy and boring).

I'd also like the same question for the Top 5. Shows who's more mentally alert during stressful times!

And make sure the show does NOT feature a female performer who's not as attractive, tall, or sexy as the contestant; the performer ends up looking so out-of-place that I start feeling sorry for her... :-(

I just want the pageant to be transparent. Show the real live scores from the judges in each portion of the pageant.

Oh, and I want to see a really gorgeous, personable and (preferably) tall girl win the crown this time. I couldn't care less if the girl can "perform" or whatnot.

For the love of god, no butterface winner please.

I want Philippines to be permanently etched on the semifinals list. Joke! :%)) :%)) :%))

(1) Do away with the Trump Picks. if Trump wants to make sure there's some kind of "quality control," he should appoint an MUO employee to the preliminary judging panel (a) who'll enlighten everyone on the criteria and expectations on the abilities of the chosen winner, and (b) whose scoring will have the same -- not more -- weight as each of the other judges.

(2) Do a Top 12 or Top 15, no fans votes, with all of them going through all rounds (SS, EG, and interview) and with all the scores made public; then narrow it down to a Top 5 who'll answer the same question, with the hosts reminding the judges that scoring is back to zero and that whoever is smartest among the five beautiful ladies will become the winner.

(3) Announce the winner in reverse order, with the winner's name called LAST.

Eliminate USA and Venezuela from the competition! I'm so tired of seeing their mediocre, overrated candidates being gifted the crown.

Put them in some Hall of Fame category, making them ineligible to compete, and just have them do "special presentations" in their national costumes, swimsuits, and evening gowns. Then interview them. This way, they still get the hype that the MUO wants to satisfy political interests, while at the same time, OTHER (and really deserving) candidates win the crown!

I noticed Ara's preliminary hairstyling during EG segment!!! What a mess. The same styling with Natalia Navaro (Miss Colombia Universe 2010) during preliminary round. Monic's hairstyling during SS top 15 segment is so out too!! It kills their charisma and attitude on stage. I'm so mad when Carey's hair covered upa quarter of her face during EG and SS Segment, and I cant barely see her smiling. I just hope that they do a better styling next time. Don't you think it hurts their (hair stylists) pride if the contestant do their own hair style?? Rozana's Purcell was one of the victim. A good discussion! Thanks Bud! :=p :=p :=p :=p :=p :=p

I'd be interested in seeing winners from, say, 10 or so years ago, and appreciate how accomplished or great-looking they still are after a decade. :-*

I would love to see Miss Universe allowing the territories or dependencies of other countries to field their own candidates once again such as Tahiti,Martinique,etc..I won't mind Hawaii having their own candidate too coz the island has its own rich culture and tradition different from the mainland USA.Of course Hawaii would still have her own candidate for Miss USA though it's up to the Aloha state whether to pick another entry for Miss Universe or still choose the one who competed in Ms USA.
Miss Universe is US owned and its their prerogative to let Hawaii grace the Miss Universe stage. If Miss World has allowed Scotland,Wales ,England and Northern Ireland in their pageant, why can't Miss Universe do the same?.

Majority of pageant critics firing scathingly remarks and unleashing vilest of comments to some candidates, ironically, are not even beautiful themselves aesthetically and worst characterwise.

had there not been a portion of the show where they devoted in featuring previous winners, i wouldn't have, for instance, appreciated the beauty of miss universe 1964 corinna kiriaki tsopei of greece who didn't look as good when she won the title as those times when she opened miss universe 1973, when she was one of the guests of miss universe 1975 and when she served as an anchorwoman in miss universe 1980.

p.s. i might have commited an error or two in my recollection of which editions of miss universe i saw corinna.

Doing so also lessens the confusion among two remaining non-English speakers, as evidenced by the fiasco from Miss Universe 2013's announcement, which NBC had to edit heavily for TV viewers, so that TV audiences wouldn't see that Gabriela Isler didn't know she had won until Olivia Culpo gave her the flowers and the crown, way after Venezuela had been proclaimed winner.

What would be on your list?

I saw only the telecast version. I didn't know the "real" version was different! Wow!

In the real version, SPAIN won. But since Trump knew that Miss Spain was of "the same persuasion" as his enemy Rosie O'Donnel, they re-did the announcement scene and made it official that Venezuela had won! =;)) =;)) =;))
