Miss Universe 2014
10th LeaderBoard - Oct. 24, 2014
by: Alvin Sebetero
This 10th Leaderboard wouldn't be possible without the people who participated in the 4-day-voting. Among all the selected and confirmed contestants so far, the people have voted for the ladies the liked the most and the Top 25 was able to make the first cut. Among these 25, the final 16 has been chosen and arranged in order of preference.
*********************************************
1. BRAZIL ~ Melisa Gurgel
> Over-all appeal just screams Miss Universe. She is a pro on stage so expect Melisa to kick ass this January. Top 5 placement is not what they are aiming for this year, this time, it's for the crown.
2. SOUTH AFRICA ~ Rolene Strauss
> This woman is working like a real titleholder. I just love how hard-working she is in her charity. I know Julia Morley or Donald Trump would love to have a beautiful and hard-working symbol for the organization like Rolene.
3. JAMAICA ~ Kaci Fennell
> This is the beauty that definitely cannot be ignored. I've never felt this vibe before since Yendi Philipps and I know Kaci can do very well in the pageant. Her beauty is just so classic and I could definitely see her face lining up with the previous titleholders of Miss Universe.
4. INDIA ~ Noyonita Lodh
> She is a complete game-changer. India couldn't be happier with Noyonita. They just caught the woman that could probably take home their 3rd crown. She is another woman to watch out on stage performance and she is very smart.
5. COLOMBIA ~ Paulina Vega
> Strongest competitor this year and also the most consistent of all. Paulina deserves to get a high placement this January because that's what she really deserves. It's time for a deserving Colombian contender to shine.

6. CURACAO ~ Laurien Angelista
> Laurien is experienced in beauty pageants and with her track records, she is someone to watch as well. A young woman who always win in every pageant she competes in can definitely delvier a solid performance. Come on, from Angenie (2009), Safira (2010) and Eline (2013), Curacao surely deserves a placement this time.
7. UKRAINE ~ Anna Andres
> Am I the only one who thinks Anna's latest Faild shots was lifeless? Or Am I just expecting too much from her? But in totality, I am very sure that Anna will nail the preliminary and wave Ukraine's flag. She is a complete package.
8. PHILIPPINES ~ Mary Jean Lastimosa
> Expect a huge cheer for MJ this coming pageant night. From a country who just awoken from it's long sleep, you can expect a huge preparation for MJ. A Top 5 placement for 4-years in a row is such a huge obligation to fulfill. We do know that MJ knows how to do her thing on stage, but how she prepares herself is up to her. This is really a tough competition this year.
9. LEBANON ~ Saly Greige
> Another stunner that I would love to see in Miss Universe. They just released new photos of her, and I have to say, some photos don't give her beauty justice. Saly is such a very beautiful woman in motion. I just don't want to give and expect much since I don't want to be disappointed again. I wish I could give her advice though. They need a descent and elegant set of wardrobe for her, but most importantly, I want her to be confident and feel like a winner. I want her to have that "bang" and "wow" factor that could magnetize everyone. Deep in my heart, I am rooting for Lebanon to get into the Top 5. She has a beauty that doesn't deserve to be wasted.
10. RUSSIA ~ Yulia Alipova
> As the competition gets close, Yulia is quite fading in my list. I really do hope she can do very well in the competition because she looks very expensive. She is like a queen who comes down to compete. I don't know if that's a good thing though.

11. COSTA RICA ~ Karina Ramos
> I am very proud that Costa Rica manage to master the trick on what kind of girls does Miss Universe wants. Kary for me is a strong contender. She can walk and get the attention on her. I just hope that her preparation for the pageant is not over-done.
12. INDONESIA ~ Elvira Devinamira
> Elvira is certainly one of the most beautiful Asian contender this year. But it's really difficult to judge her that much as of the moment since I have not seen much of her walk and how she interacts on stage. But facially, Indonesia is on the right track. I am wishing her luck, and hopefully she can make Indonesia very proud.
13. USA ~ Nia Sanchez
> I really don't understand why, but as the competition comes close, Nia is becoming plain-looking in my eyes. Although, I know how she does on stage and she really can handle her self very well, but as of the moment, I just think that the competition is getting tough for her. I just hope she won't be ignored in her own country.
14. VENEZUELA ~ Migbelis Castellanos
> I really have faith in Migbelis after all the photos being released that she is becoming fat. With the remaining months of preparation, Osmel is still there to transform her into a front-runner like she was used to be.
15. KOSOVO ~ Artnesa Krasniqi
> I am actually on the fence with both the contenders from Albania and Kosovo. Although, I prefer Kosovo, I still do not feel her. She looks like a plain European contender in my eyes. They are too model-ish for me. I just don't see beauty queen at all. But I am not throwing them out yet, something might happened and who knows, they might just fly on top of the list.
16. ECUADOR ~ Silvia Argudo
> Silvia is definitely the most improved contender so far. It's really obvious that they are eager to continue their streak. And honestly, they are really doing well. But same with Costa Rica, I just hope they are not overdoing the preparation.
