there are many beautiful girls in Lithuania, just like all over there world - not all of them are interested in pageants. Here in Lithuania (and in most parts of Europe) beauty pageant isn't a popular thing. If a girl has a look and wants to do something with it, she will try modeling, not pageants.
That girl, Elita Citovičiūtė, participated last year. She had no chance of winning: no education and no plans for anything, doing nothing in her life just random cheap public relations jobs. In other words : she is kind of dumb. She didn't even get to the final at first - because she totally failed her interview. That kind of girl will never win the crown here.

Faking it? No, that's not how it works here, and it shouldn't. To me pageants ''work'' only if there are some minimal criteria for girls inner beauty.
Miss Lithuania are searching for the girl who could represent Lithuania basically ''on her own''. There is no training, there is almost no financial support after a girl wins her title. They pay franchise fee, buy a ticket and give some contacts of designers who will help with wardrobe. But she has to prepare everything by herself: so she needs to be bold and daring, very organized, active, well spoken, have decent sense of style and beauty, she must speak some English (as there won't be translators from Lithuanian language), she must know and represent some values.
By the way, and didn't know that Brazil don't care about pageants. Although it's pretty understandable : with so many super models, modeling must be priority no 1 there.
And yes, winner goes to Miss World, 1st Ru goes to Miss Universe.
