My Ideal Top 3 for Miss Universe 1992 to 1995

The 1990s was probably the worst ever decade for the Miss Universe pageant as the organizers made many huge blunders like the winners chosen in 1992 and 1994.Carolina Izsak in 1992 and Carolina Gomez in 1994 were a clear cut above the remaining contestants and yet the organizers crowned completely mediocre and undeserving women in these years. This was probably due to two reasons.
1.The importance of the interview round
2.The presence of India as an emerging economy and this resulted in the organizers seeing the Indian representatives as a means to tap into the Indian economy and there by create a market in India.Ideally if the Miss Universe pageants from 1992 to 1995 were judged based on merit alone all 4 of the Indian representatives should not even be placed in the top 50.
My Ideal Top 3 for Miss Universe from 1992 to 1995 would be as follows. When I look at the beautiful Carolina Iszak and Carolina Gomez I cannot help but wonder why these women did not win the crown and why common looking plain janes Michelle and Sushmita stole the crowns.
1.Miss Universe 1992
Miss Universe Carolina Iszak - Venezuela
First Runner-up Paola Turbay - Colombia
Second Runner-up Anke van Dermeersch - Belgium
2.Miss Universe 1993

First Runner-up Paula Betancourt - Colombia
Second Runner-up Milka Chulina - Venezuela
3.Miss Universe 1994
Miss Universe Carolina Gomez - Colombia
First Runner-up Minorka Mercado - Venezuela
Second Runner-up Arianna David - Italy
4.Miss Universe 1995
Miss Universe Desiree Lowry- Puerto Rico
First Runner-up Lana Buchberger - Canada
Second Runner-up Denyse Floreano - Venezuela.
