If we are talking about beauty that does not need any further justification, Sebia’s Andjelka Tomasevic apparently epitomizes it. This type of beauty gratifyingly exalts the minds and the spirits of everyone who sees it, and this is the face that deserves to win the Miss Universe title every year. Miss Universe Organization needs a woman like her. I miss those times that the winners were unquestionably gorgeous and stunning with the likes of Oxana Fedorova and Natalie Glebova. I can tell that Andjelka is a ball of fire, and a woman that personifies genuineness and naturalness. Actually, she was my ultimate bet at Miss Earth 2013. She reminds me so much of my beloved Miss Earth 2012 Tereza Fajksova. Both are indisputably European Goddesses! In my own opinion, she didn’t win because of her middle-of-the-road catwalk skills and mediocre evening gown. In spite of everything, she placed 6th overall because of her convincing reply to her final question. We have to bear in mind that Miss Universe beauty pageant is not all about beauty of the face. Yes, beauty is just one of the factors in achieving the Miss Universe crown. Intellect, performance and personality also play major roles in the said competition. My advice for her is to enhance her catwalk skills and choose a spectacular evening gown. I truly hope that her trainers will learn their lessons from what happened to her in Miss Earth last year or else, she will be another Paulina Krupinska who was wasted due to her upsetting performance in the preliminaries. Andjelka definitely deserves a crown on her head no more, no less.
Trivia: Serbia has never placed in Miss Universe since the country started competing in 2007. Sanja Papic who placed 3rd Runner-Up at Miss Universe 2003 pageant was a product of Miss Yugoslavia 2002 pageant.
Anything that is impossible is possible to a Venezuelan representative. Venezuela already made history as the first nation to acquire consecutive wins in Miss Universe. How about another one? Migbelis Castellanos is obviously the most prepared candidate as of now. Osmel’s magic is something that no one can emulate. He knows what is best for his delegates. Who would have thought that Miss Venezuela would win the Miss Universe crown last year? If Maria Gabriela Isler could do it, how about this girl who seemed so ready by the time she was named as Miss Venezuela? She has all the exceptional qualities of a beauty queen. She possesses a breathtaking face and a scorching hot body. My only advice for her is not to wear heavy makeup that can make her look draggish at times. By the time the competition sinks in, without a doubt she will make huge waves! By all appearances, making it to the top 5 is like a piece of cake for her.
Trivia: Venezuela is the second most successful nation in Miss Universe with seven Miss Universe titles. It is the only nation state to accomplish the impossible back-to-back wins in Miss Universe. Venezuela’s Miss Universe winners established a Guinness World Record!
South Africa will send another strong contender since Melinda Bam in 2012. Rolene Strauss was the clear winner in her national pageant. It was a no-brainer. In my own judgment, she gives me an impression of a classic Miss Universe titleholder and that is something that I truly want to see in a Miss Universe winner of the new millennium. What I truly love about her is her face that could launch a thousand ships. She's so vibrantly beautiful and the word nobleness is written all over her. Since Melinda Bam was chosen as the new National Executive for the Miss South Africa pageant, I have high hopes that she will be at her best form during the entire competition. South Africa has a very good shot in winning the top plum with this type of beauty. She should add more sparkle and vivaciousness in the personality department. Most of the beautiful candidates do not win because of their so-so stylings and passable performances. I wish that it won’t happen to her since she is extremely a high-caliber delegate that can get hold of the Miss Universe crown irrefutably.
Trivia: South Africa’s last Big Four titleholder is Margaret Gardiner who won the country’s first Miss Universe title. She is also the first African to capture the Miss Universe crown.
If the Miss Universe Organization is looking for a naturally beautiful and fresh-looking face, Paulina Vega of Colombia would be the right woman to wear the Diamond Nexus Labs Crown. She tremendously exudes so much freshness and serenity. Her beauty is very easy on the eyes, and you will never get exhausted by looking at her face. I am completely drained seeing overmanufactured beauties making it to the top 5 year after year. I want someone who holds an effortless, natural-looking face and has the spur-of-the-moment type of character. My only fear is that she will lose her ember just like what happened to her predecessor, Lucia Aldana, last year. Overall, she is the type of a candidate that will make a splash in any pageant if she knows how to play her cards very well.
Trivia: Colombia’s first and only Miss Universe victor is Luz Marina Zuluaga who was avowed tax-exempt for life by the Colombian government.
Mary Jean Lastimosa displays courage, endurance, and strength. It does not matter how gradually you go as long as you do not give up. She serves as an inspiration to everyone not to give up in chasing your goals in life. I am her devoted supporter since 2011. She was my Miss Universe Philippines from 2011 to 2012. But things didn’t go well as what I expected them to be. She didn’t make it to her final destination. It was a chip on my shoulder knowing that MJ did her best to procure the title. I guess, it was not her destiny. It is certainly true that unexpected things left huge marks in our hearts and minds. When she decided to compete again, I was not sure if she could actually outshone other strikingly competitive ladies. My ultimate bet this year was Pia Wurtzbach, but MJ would always be my sentimental favorite. As long as you don’t give up, God will definitely give you that something which your heart faithfully desires. She did it! It was positively her time to claim that most wanted title. She is all set to compete in Miss Universe later this year. I believe that she is on the ball. She is an absolute fighter that could give a decent fight. If Janine Tugonon and Ariella Arida could make it as Miss Universe runners-up in their respective years, I don’t see any reason why she can’t make it to the top 5 as long as she keeps the fire burning. She is adequate enough to compete in the Miss Universe pageant and can come up to the high expectations of everyone. Her greatest obstacle would be the evening gown segment. I have noticed in the previous years that the evening gowns worn by the Philippine representatives were average. Some of you might say that it is not about the evening gown; it’s all about the wearer. If our candidates could make it to the top 5 with those unremarkable evening gowns due to their extraordinary performances, could you imagine them getting very high scores because of their phenomenal evening gowns? Maybe, we have already our third Miss Universe winner by now. We don’t have to wait for so long! I only hope that MJ will wear an extravagant evening gown that can make her look taller. Even though, height is not an issue at all here since Olivia Culpo attained USA’s eight Miss Universe title in 2012, it is still an advantage for a woman competing in a beauty pageant. I am absolutely confident that MJ will rock the Miss Universe competition especially the swimsuit portion. After all, this is her life-long dream!
Trivia: Philippines’ last Miss Universe winner was in 1973 when Maria Margarita Moran gained the nation’s second Miss Universe title in just a span of 5 years. With her triumph, Philippines became the first Asian realm to take home the Miss Universe title twice.
