Top 7:
Here are our Top 7. Just gonna give a short assessment of each underneath and a ranking. Not intended to insult or denigrate any of them. They are each successful in their own right.
Cork - 6th
I was surprised by her advancing to the Top 7. She is very beautiful but a bit young and her choice of career as Insta famous doesn't scream modern beauty Queen to me. She has a story to tell, but I just wish she had more to offer the realm of beauty pageants.
Derry - 4th
I think objectively she is the most beautiful. She has experience at MGI, which in format is similar to Miss Universe. I don't know does she follow the mold of what Brittany Mason wants out of her title holders and she made an Insta post about Trump which I did not approve of, which is why I have her middling here.
Down - 1st
A former title holder, just like Derry and Ulster, she placed at MW representing Northern Ireland, which is no mean feat. She is a pediatric nurse by profession, well educated, articulate and one of the more beautiful in the batch. I think she stands a good chance at taking the title this year.
Galway - 5th
Gift of the gab. She is an impressive speaker and honestly I have been very impressed by her throughout the competition. I want her to maybe come back. She has the basics. She just needs more time. She could go higher then this but I just feel there were stronger contestants than her. But she has surprised me once. That can happen again.
Leinster - 3rd
Already kind of famous as one of the dancers on Ireland's version of Strictly Come Dancing, she has looked the best throughout the competition. Always looking on point and her profession as a dancer has given her the opportunity to work with many different charitable orgs. But when she speaks, something just seems off to me.
Midleton - 7th
Fig's win last year was historic and so well deserved. Ireland's first black beauty Queen. Ireland's first non Irish white winner in fact. I'll fight anyone who says she didn't deserve it or says she isn't really Irish. Honestly though, I was underwhelmed by the black contestants this year and I thought Midleton was the weakest of the two. Congratulations to her though. I don't see her winning however.
Ulster - 2nd
She wants this the most of any of the contestants. She placed Top 10 last year and represented us at MInter. I think she stands a realistic chance of getting to the Top 3. However, even though she is 26, she screams teen to me. That is in no way an insult. Most of wish we wouldn't age. But given her complexion, I would rather Derry,Down or Leinster if we are talking just physical beauty.
