Their first choice, China (specifically Hangzhou), could not accept because they could not do the show live; however, Macau is willing to do so. South Korea likewise showed interest in hosting and should they host it there, North Korea might participate for the first time (not sure if he's joking, though, or if it's even a possibility). Vietnam has also expressed interest, and he, Paula Shugart and the MUO team will be headed there this weekend.
Also, he is still being owed U$ 2,000,000 from the 2016 edition which he is currently managing. Nonetheless, MUO was impressed with the management, so he and his company (LCS Group) can be trusted.

He said not possible for the Philippines this time, they are eyeing for China, they already went there for inspection everythings okay except for one thing, communist country China never had a live show there, a little conflict from MUO who wanted to telecast the coronation night live. Possible are Macau, Korea, and also Vietnam (those three countries are showing some interest in hosting the Miss Universe according to him).

May I know where the conclusion that China never had a live show is coming from? Considering China hosted MW & MI & other pageants & other big events like Olympics, why some people still made excuses after China turn down the bid knowing they have to host the live show at 8AM local time? I do not like the host countries still need to do the show in the early morning to entertain USA audience even though the host countries have paid huge amount fees.

HELLO SINCE WHEN DID MW AND MISHOWN LIVE ON A MAJOR NETWORK? IT IS NOT EVEN SHOWN ON A MAJOR NON-CABLE NETWORK IN UK. MW IS NOT EVEN BROADCAST LIVE IN CHINA. AND SINCE WHEN DID THE OLYMPICS HAD A QUESTION AND ANSWER THAT CAN BE LACED WITH POLITICAL QUESTIONS? THE BEIJING OLYMPICS WAS ORGANIZED AND THE CONTENT CONTROLLED BY CHINA.

First,
My country barely recovered from 2008-2016 disaster years.
17th, 18th president of my country concealed a lot of tax money, they are arrested.
Second,
Fuckin opposite parties barely agreed to use the supplementary budget to create jobs for citizens.
My country has 300 congressmen, 170 congressmen are from opposite parties.
They always against my president's policy.
And not sure my president interested to hosting Miss Universe.
Again, hosting fee is expensive as f. We need to keep recover economics and welfare using tax money.
Third,
Former Miss Universe franchise holder, MKO's pageant Miss Korea was dropped from major tv stations by feminists.
So, I'm not sure Korean tv stations interested in Miss Universe broadcasting in Korea.
Maybe low rating cable tv channel gonna interested. That even worse. Bcuz nobody gives a f**k.
And I don't think Korean people willing to watch Miss Universe in real time.
Mostly Miss Universe is held on Monday morning in my country.
We are workaholic.
Fourth,
My citizens already get over pageantry.
Miss Korea pageant was one of a method that to be an actress, anchor, but not anymore
We think pageant isn't relevant anymore.
Good looking people directly become actress, news anchor without entering pageantry.
And Korean people's main interests are politics, K-Pop, Korean entertainment business, sports, online game.
Even though South Korea-North Korea summit, North Korea-US summit happened,
But that doesn't mean Korean people willing to watch Miss Universe.
Maybe hosting would be meaningful, but uh uh.
I think MACAU is a better choice.
And I'm not sure North Korea is interested to send their representative either.
