However, i’m so sick of political correctness manipulating traditional pageants. No more swimsuits, rights for trans, inspiring stories, etc. What’s next? Married women or older women (like in their 60s) can also join Miss Universe??? Come on, I find it ridiculous when MUO allows a trans to compete but prohibits a 60 year old woman from competing. Isn’t it discriminating against old women? You guys feel bad when MUO discriminates against transwomen but why don’t you guys feel bad when MUO discriminates agaisnt old women. Hypocrites!
Restrictions are restrictions. If age restriction is ok, naturally born gender restriction should be ok too. There is nothing wrong if pageants are only for naturally born women. Transwomen have their own pageants.
this is true, they might as well let anybody compete
You know, at one point, black women were not allowed to compete in pageants. You of all people should be more understanding.
There will always be minorities that are excluded but the criteria to compete in pageants has always changed due to the times. They changed the rules for black women to compete and they will change the rules for transgenders to compete. Plain and simple.
Then we should expect in the years to come, heterosexual men will join Miss Universe as well. Plain and simple.
Thank you I knew someone would have brought up black women competing just to prove their point
You're being hypocritical because you often bring up race in your posts. This is not something I do regularly. But since you're someone who's so passionate about black women in pageants, I thought you'd be a bit more sensitive to another minority group's fight.
Excuse me? Trans have their own pageants. So I don’t see why they need to join natural born women pageants.
If that’s the case let married women fat women, overly fem gay men join. Lift the band and let whoever wants to compete compete. That’s only fair
It's interesting how the targets are the transgendered women and not the pageant organizations. You keep saying "they don't need to join" instead of "why do Miss Spain and Miss Universe allow transgenders to compete". Why is that?

IF Miss Universe OPENS TO TRANS-WOMEN THEY SHOULD AT LEAST LIFT THE BLOCKADE ON MARRIED WOMEN, DIVORCEES, MOTHERS AND WOMEN OVER 28 YEARS.
SINCE IVE BEEN A PAGEANT FAN IVE WITNESSED REAL, NATURAL BORN WOMEN GET DENIED BECAUSE OF ONE OF THOSE REASONS. SOME OF THEM EVEN WON THEIR NATIONAL PAGEANT AND HAD TO FORFEIT.
Eh, I'm in no position to tell Miss Universe who they should allow to compete or not. As far as I know, they allow transgenders to compete. If they didn't allow transgenders to compete, I'd be perfectly fine with that.
Miss Universe is free to decide who they want competing in their pageant.

exsembhoy wrote: Personally, I always look forward to Spain's delegate at Miss Universe, the last two Miss Spain delegates at Miss Universe 2016 and 2017 were really very promising I thought they deserve better/ higher placements!
Anyway, this batch is also very promising and I could see some potential Miss Universe materials in these ladies. I think its difficult to decide because not all the girls have swimsuit photos so its difficult to decide if considering their physique or figure... however Miss Universe recently has focused more on the Beauty of face and personality of the girl..so I believe these photos available would suffice. So based on the pictures, for now, my personal choices for Miss Universe Spain 2018 are... my bets in random:
ARIADNA SUAREZ, 22 years/ 1.80 (6.0)- Very tall and facially she is stunning! (Oh,those beautiful expressive eyes!) I think having a blond Miss Spain this time would be a breath of fresh air!
VANESA FERNANDEZ, 22/ 1.77 (5.10)- Her brunette beauty is classic that reminds me of Penelope Cruz! I like her, I think she has great figure too!
ANDREA DE LAS HERAS, 24 years/ 1.75 (5.9)- She's got a beautiful face and a vavavoom figure! I hope can speak a little English so can express herself in another language. Like her alot!
ANA FERNANDEZ ,24 years/ 1.75 (5.9)- Her beauty is reminiscent of classic beauty queens from the 70s and 80s... I think her experiences as a model will see her through!
SHEILA MONJAS, 22 years/ 1.77 (5.10)- Here's another blond girl who seems to have a lot of potential. She's got a charming face with such beautiful eyes and lips!
and these teenagers are also very promising with so much potential!
LAURA MARTÍN, 19 years/ 1.76 (5.9)- She's got those stunning blue eyes and captivating smile! She looks like a living doll! I hope she didnt quit though!
Paola Lopez Diaz,19 years/ 1.80 - She's got a beautiful face combined with a towering height for a very strong stage presence!
ANA KRISTINA RIVERO,19 years/ 1.76 (5.9) -Beautiful, sexy, tall and fresh!

I'm do have the respect for the transgenders, but for a transgender to compete in Miss Universe, a 66-year old pageant traditionally for natural-born women, is such an insult for the girls working hard for YEARS just to compete to Miss Universe.
What if a natural-born woman gets to compete in Miss International Queen? How will transgenders feel? Insulted. Right? It goes the same way afterall.
This is Jenna Talackova's fault. Seriously.

No offense but transgender women work harder to have the look and body to compete in pageants.
