Because this shitty organziation wasn't looking for girls that work hard for their community, they were looking for girls that could serve as animators that speak good english so they can animate the american audience (that's the unique and real purpose of this shitty pageant, to entertain the american audience, they don't give a shit about the rest of the world)
This is not like the Miss world pageant, were we can see girls that don't speak english reaching a top 12 in the final night, Miss Universe is a non purpose pageant that has 0 impact in society, they don't encourage the girls to wok for their communities and get rewarded, they are just looking for girls that can take the role of entertainers to the american audience, and the worst thing is that the ratings are worser every year, Fox should get rid of this shitty corrupt pageant that generates 0 interest according to the ratings,
Well Vietnam didn´t speak english, and guess what??, she was top 5... for me, her result at miss universe wasn´t her complete fault, it was the fault of Cesar Anel, who is the ND of señorita Panamá, he made her play her ethnicity card like no damn tomorrow without a real strategy, in other hand, Solaris Barba, which is the actual Miss World Panama, without the support of Cesar Anel (she actually struggled a lot because the lack of support of the organization), she played her cards with strategy, she prepared her routine for dances of the world very well, she focused her social work in a very specific topic in Panama and help a group of people with a real and accountable purpose, not just going to UN and read a essay about the rights of Indigenous people all over Latin america, even though that is great, that purpose is extremely general and for me, it didn´t cause a real impact, the only ones who got a benefit from it and traveled several times to US just for that reason was Rosa and Cesar Anel, she had all the opportunities and the platforms to create a great strategy, but they completely missed the point
Vietnam was in everybody's top 5, and she made it far because her aspect was different to all the other contestants, she didn't made it far because of her history, the MUO never takes the history into account when making choices, they love to show off the history of the girls as if they where an organization that encourages People to be agents of change, that's the prefabricated purpose of this organization.
I'm talking about the Girls - International organization relationship, and as you could see Solaris didn't speak english and she became the continental queen of the americas, we can see little countries like Mauritius, Nepal or New Zealand with better results than countries like Brazil, Philippines or South Africa in a contest like Miss World, can't you see the difference between an unfair shitty prefabritcated pageant and a Pageant that truly generates a meaninful relevant change in society?
For Example:
When las year representatives of both pageants (Miss World and Miss Universe) were present in an event in South Africa, (i don't rememeber the name of the event) but Demi was present there as well, and the treat given for both organizations showed a contrast, the treatment towards the event given by the Miss World organization was miles better than the one given by the Miss Universe Organization, you can see this kind of differences in most aspect regarding both entities, MW totally overshadows Miss Universe in all aspects, specially in the transparence of acts.
MORON! Why would you even question Miss Universe Org when it's the only major major major pageant that gave you 1st runner up placement in Miss Universe (Justine Pasek) Yes! she only won by default but in my opinion still it's Oxana still the real Miss Universe. How's your placement in Mess World? bwahahahahhaa Now go back to Julia Money-ly and kiss her ass for your placement. Your brain is fucked up totally.

True. Unfortunately when you’re backed by an org that doesn’t have any sense of fashion and styling, the look will always be disastrous. The fact that Kiki can’t muster any sophistication no matter what she’s wearing is not helping, either...
I hope PR’s rep and org this year does much better. Lesson learned?

There are people who face looks like Zuleyka's face when she was crowned Miss Universe 2006, surprised and excited about the way the Miss Universe 2019 will be carried out. Others have reacted and stayed on shock learning about the hosting city--Atlanta, Georgia, as Alicia did when she was called Miss Universe 1996 On the other hand, others have reacted as Mpule did, and are already excited to know that the Miss Universe 2019 has officially started!!
To increase the euphoria of Miss Universe 2019, our YOUTUBE channel has created its first Top 20 Hot Pick.
This is based on over 75 of the most popular hot picks!!
MULs had no opinion in the selection of top 20 for the video making!!

Important Points:
Two candidates are still being seen as strong contenders given that the two have been working closely with the organization as both influencer for the woman empowering campaign and ambassador.
What happens in the Miss USA is a prediction (not always) for what will be happening at the Miss Universe. For example, trying to get a host city was such a nightmare for the Miss USA 2019. At the moment, Miss USA and Miss Teen USA are African Americans, will this be an indication for what the organization is looking for Miss Universe 2019?
This year, there are a lot of candidates with an IMG profile, empowered and with a solid curriculum. It seems that national organizations are putting an emphasis in establishing as a criterion to choose their national title holder having a solid curriculum that meets IMG profile.
There is no candidate known as the strongest, as in 2018, when Catriona was the one to beat. Is this an indication that everything can happen?

Not to mention, the entitlement and cockiness some of you are portraying now that the judges have been revealed.
PERSONALLY, I believe Catriona has all the capabilities to win whether there's five filipino judges or none. What's bothersome, frankly, is how okay some of you seem to be with this despite year after year delegitimizing Stephanie's win or even Denise's win for this very same reason. You guys use the excuse that Stephanie came out of no where? Okay, whatever. But what about Denise Quinonez? You could argue whether Evelina deserved the crown more than Denise or not. But that doesn't change the fact that Denise was a major frontrunner that year, regardless of whether the pageant was held in PR or not. That girl would have been Top 2 no matter what.
If Cat wins on Sunday, ill personally be fine with it as long as she really was among the very best that night. But face it, its the same situation many of you ranted for years yet a lot of you are rationalizing it now.
I wont address this topic any further.
Best response yet
Anyways @ the girls I hope you are not reading this but I know some of you are so I just wanted to say good luck to all the girls today, I probably will not see it live because it will be 4am when it happens where I currently live, no matter how evil these fans can be you are all remarkable women and I have never been this excited to see a group of girls compete.
There are some people on here who try to drag poor girls down but this year I am genuinely rooting for everyone and the fans are the disgusting ones, not you girls and it’s ashamed there are not enough sensible people on this site to realize that.
Couldnt hav said it better than Maria, thank you
There's still a difference. In 2001 Scores were televised. you could see the scores. In 2018 You can't see the scores. So things get a bit more suspicious.
In 2016, there were no scores
The world judged for themselves. Aside from Zuleyka, the PR queens weren't major frontrunners in performance and there was proof of biased voting. Seriously did Denise have a better body, walk and appeal than the rest of the semifinalists? Also she's so basic looking.

Greece and Venezuela gave the best answers that night in both rounds but even Eva was punished by Mark Anthony's biased scoring or rather lack of expertise in scoring pageant performance.
How dare you ?? Let Eva Rest In Peace . She was an amazing beauty and with Jamaican heritage we were rooting for her. The woman was a goddess and earned her placement. Please stop the fuckery and stop acting like Eva was basic she was far from basic she was an amazing beauty
