Meanwhile, I don't know about Chalita's chances. She might end up like Areeya too, being a favorite but might not place.
Andrea Tovar, let's face it. She is nowhere in the level of Carolina Gomez and the girl who represented in 1974 (I forgot the name). The 1974 and 1994 girls from Colombia are way too popular for the Filipinos.

Definitely? I wouldn’t be so sure. Kezia is weak facially. She wasn’t even a favourite during Putri Indonesia. Beautywise she’s one of the weakest contestants for me. Indonesia would have better chances with stunning Intan. I want a goddess like Whulandary or Intan, not a plain girl with polarizing features.
Do you seriously think that Kezia is better than Andrea?

- Pres. Duterte said that he will agree as long as the government won't spend on it. However, the government will shoulder the services like security.
- The budget will be $11 million. He is is considering to hold the pageant in Davao, CDO, Bohol, at Vigan. They are still thinking about the logistics.

- STEVE HARVEY will host again the pageant. It will be his chance to personally apologize to the Filipino.

I thought MUO and ABS-CBN have long-term contract. Plus, ABS-CBN gave a grand welcome for Pia. It won't be an exciting edition if ABS-CBN is not the official broadcaster here. TV5 can possibly outbid the other networks if this happens!
I'm also skeptical about Iran joining Miss Universe. The country is strict Islamic country unlike Indonesia, Turkey and Lebanon which are moderate.

Why not spend for it??? It's a DOT-worthy activity. You could spend on promotion and ads or retrofitting, rehabilitating, repairing of tourist spots too - this is within Duterte's idea of spending big on infra projects. They could spend at most spend 10% of the total project cost. I think that's not too big. You can also source it from the PDAF of our politicos.
I think it's hosting related, the $11 million
Could you be clear on this one? Did you mean that hosting would cost $11 M?
Yes, I believe that includes, licenses/franchising, production costs, accommodation, transportation, logistics, press conferences, media presentations, etc. But rehabilitation and infrastructure projects are government projects so I think there are allocated budgets for that na...

I agree. Production and broadcasting-wise ABS-CBN is the closest to international standards...
