Siran Samuel initially won Beauties of South Sudan 2014 but failed to attend Miss Earth Pageant in 2014. And this year under unclear circumstances she was changed and handed Miss Gwand title without competition to represent South Sudan in Miss Gwand International this year. Last week before dismissal, she was seen at the airport receiving Miss Gwand International Lee Garcia who was visiting the country on environmental campaigns.
According to former Miss World Atong Demach and director of Beauties of South Sudan, Miss Siran didn't have what it takes to represent the country at international competition. She said Siran doesn't take the title 'seriously'.
Talk of Juba sought answers from former Miss World Atong Demach who is the director of Beauties of South Sudan, an organisation which manages Miss Gwand and Miss International.
“We sacked her because we don't believe she have what it takes to represent South Sudan, she beautiful yes but beauty is not enough to represent a nation”, Atong told Talk of Juba on twitter.
“We are trying to change the image of South Sudan to the world and we therefore don't have a time for a person who will not take this mission seriously”. She added
