This is my first time following MGI and I’ve been pleasantly surprised with the coverage the org has done so far. The live-streaming of events were well prepared and the girls seem to be enjoying their activities although I still dont condone their “safari” visit. In comparison to ME (and I’m only doing this because they’re running concurrently), the org has been doing a better job even though the quality of the candidates is much better in ME.
My favourites so far:
1. Peru: There’s a reason the local media loves her. And this always translates to future success in the finals. Dayana Mendoza was a huge favourite when Miss Universe was held in Vietnam and she won. She’s really playing up to the audience each time she comes out onstage.
2. India: Such a pretty face! She started out stronger and slowly fading into the background, but I hope she steps it up soon!
3. Philippines: I want all her clothes! She may be relatively shorter, but she stands out! One of the commenters mentioned that she only looks good dolled up but I disagree. Her photo in the green floral romper is stunning and she was barely wearing any makeup! And the fact that she refuses to wear those tacky stripper platform shoes when she was wearing her supper classy blue gown at the gala dinner says a lot! This girl has class.
4. Laos: I know Thailand has more traction but I find Laos to be much cuter. Besides, she has more unique features, whereas the Thai delegate looks so similar to the previous titleholder.
5. Venezuela: She came to win. Such a performer and as I can see MGI is trying very hard to become Miss Universe (of the Trump era). She just might be the winner they’re looking for. And her body is to die for!
I still think Netherlands and Lebanon are goddesses, but I’ll be realistic.
Don’t understand the hype on Indonesia (not facially appealing to me) and Vietnam (her rhinoplasty is so obvious!)
