I like Vietnam too but we are just discussing the hows and whys. No need for us to be combative. Let us just discuss the merits and demerits. What is done is done and we can only ask, discuss and for some whine. If she answered like Thailand, she could have shared her thoughts better if she spoke in her language. I also want our Filipina Queens to speak in Tagalog/Filipino language.

It’s funny how you judge Vietnam only on the speaking skill. Howabout star quality, authenticity, catwalk, stage presence, swim performance and gown performance. Her 20 second speech wasn’t that bad because we understood what she wanted to deliver. It was just not really smooth. And her final answer actually made sense. She said everything had 2 sides and she chose to be positive to become excellent. Was it the best answer? NO. But was it bad. Also NO.

Indians are fuming here as well oh no. I just finished reasoning to one on IG and it was super funny.

Ritika deserves a top 5 finish. Periodt. I bet she placed 6th overall.

This is a tough batch though and perhaps MS org wanted to please fans so....

Overall, still a fantastic result. The winner who deserves the crown got it but Thailand winning 1st ru is the best thing for me. Proving that authentic Thai beauty and limited English won't stop you from getting far. Thanks for this Miss Supranational! MUT should learn :%))

Praew gave a good answer and could've been better with a real translator. Nipun looked cute though.

Some thoughts:
- INCREDIBLE stage design but production could be better. The format is messy as well. Too much talking but you'll get 2 secs for each girl in swimsuit and EG? lol.
7/10
- Top 24 is a bit below average. So many fillers. Where is Argentina, PR, Cote D'voire? Top 12 could've been perfect with Jamaica over Kenya. Top 5 is okay.
8/10
- WINNER - Perfect! First ever black Miss Supra and she's Naomi Campbell what else can you wish?
10/10.

- My babe Czech Republic was weak in all rounds, unfortunately. Expected her to be stopped at Top 12.
- I'd rather have Colombia over Venezuela but Ismelys nailed her Top 12 speech so...
- ASEAN domination in the Top 5 woot woot.
- India deserved Top 5 too.

Lalela is so gonna be the best Supra queen ever! As I mentioned on my prediction, Supra needs her more than she needs Supra.
Awesome selection :hx

That comment was on TOP12. I said that she could have not advanced in TOP5 especially if speech was the only basis unless that are other bases but I heard the host emphasized the importance of speech to move to next round. I believe in TOP5 she was okay. I would have loved her to answer in your language just like Thailand.

Anyhow, as they said, speech is not so important in Miss Supranational and that make sense.

Please return the Miss Supra Philippines franchise to BPCI and get a new owner for the Mister Supra Philippines franchise. This is the second year na low placement tayo sa Miss Supra and most likely clapper tayo sa Mister.

Obviously, Grandpa Arnold has no idea what Miss and Mr. Supra is looking for. Parang ginagamit lang nya mga franchise na hawak nya to promote yung mga “talent” nya.
Big FOUR pageants: Miss Universe, MW, MI and ME
All other pageants are MINOR pageants.

IT WAS GERHARD PARZUTKA VON LIPINSKI WHO DECIDED TO MOVE THE FRANCHISE TO MISS WORLD PHILIPPINES ORGANIZATION. HE INITIATED THE NEGOTIATIONS.

IF ANYTHING HAS TO BE DONE BY VEGAFRIA IN HOLDING THE FRANCHISE, IT IS THE STRATEGY.

I CAN ONLY HOPE THAT SUPRA DECIDES TO BRING BACK ITS FRANCHISE TO Bb. Pilipinas, AND IF Bb. Pilipinas IS STILL OPEN TO ACQUIRING IT.

Good job Praew! Your hard work had paid off. Its her last pageantry due to age limit 29.
She failed first time at 44 Finalists MUT2017 and joined many national pageants and always end up at RU till crown MST 2022. Destiny!
็Hope she enjoy her reign as 1st RU I noticed sometime the winner unable to join some event they assign the 1st RU instead.
Congrats to all the girls in this batch you all amazing :hx

Congrats to Lalela! well deserved win!! i honestly was not a fan of hers when she won Miss SA, and i thought her placement in Miss Universe was too high, but wow her transformation was really good!! from plain to a total black barbie doll! such a stunner!

if she does look like this when she competed in Miss Universe, she could have won!

some thoughts...

i'm actually surprised that Philippines got called in the top 24 :%)) i find her too plain and her prelim performance was meh. still glad she continued our placement streak

also surprised that Indonesia placed that high after all the bashings of Indo fans to the org and especially to Chanique! :%)) Supra org must be so forgiving :%)) she deserved to place though, honestly i like her more than their rep in Miss Universe.

Venezuela placed too high :%)) she doesnt look fresh at all!

i super love Thailand and Vietnam!! :hx

I'm really proud of the 3 Southeast Asian girls in the Top 5 :hx >=p Praew, Kim Duyen, and Dinda :hx

They were stunning last night and ALL three of them deserved their placements >:) =b Don't agree? Well, that sounds like a YOU problem.

South Africa was the clear winner. She looks MILES better than she did in Miss Universe.
First Black Miss Supranational and First South African to win the crown <:-P HISTORIC

Alison fought really well... I'm glad she continued the streak <:-P

I have no words for the Miss World Philippines organization.... they need a major revamp because I feel like we're entering our FLOP era =i
I want the Supranational franchise given back to Binibini =b

Imma do a very quick, the good, the bad and the ugly alright?

The good: Lalela winning. I mean it shouldn't been a surprise at all and it was a sight to behold. First Ebony queen of this organization, and a damn good one. I can already feel how iconic she would be come Miss South Africa, and I am excited as hell for her. Hope she comes to Philppines before her reign ends! I thought Praew, and Kim placing as a RUs were also nice, and despite their limited English, both did exceptional. Loved Vietnam's dress. Venezuela's RU placement is well deserved, she did really good during the prelims. She reminds me so much of a Filipina queen I can't remember who. Personally, I am happy with Alison's placement and she winning the Talent award was also well deserved. Solid top 12.

The bad: That stage really killed the vibe for me. The camera angles were also weird. It was past 4am already here in Philippines when I called it and stopped watching after the first cut was done. I thought the production of MS, from what I saw in Dindi's time was a lot more faster. This edition is filled with sponsor product placements, unnecessary banter and chitchat, and entertainment numbers that are remotely entertaining. The forced chemistry between the hosts are bordering cringe. While pre-pageant activities are nice, I find it sus how several mini competitions can propel a girl to a final placement, specifically the one that brings money via votes, via "influencing" and chatting i.e. fans engagement.

The ugly: That crown does nothing for Lalela. A glorified fruitbowl, that's what it is. Horrible top 24 filled with questionable placements and exclusions. Czech Republic and India not making the top 5 is just an insult to word beauty, hence it goes to the ugly section. The speech rounds are also blah.

Looking back, I am yet to figure out this pageant. Is it just a final show with predetermined winners? Are the girls judged during competition rounds like Miss Universe, or are they like ME where the backstage also factors in selecting the winner? Does facial beauty and winner's glow on the final or prelim night matter? How heavy are the popularity and money making via votes are in relation to final placements? Is the winner politically selected? I have sooo many questions but I guess I need to watch more of it for me to understand.

I think Alison made the cut because of her efforts off the competition parts of the pageant too. Let's just say it as it is, she gave her all during the talent competition and the Prelims, no doubt about that. While her SS performance is really good, her ramp skills when she's wearing evening dresses leaves much too much to be desired. During Top Model, Miss Elegance and EG round, its like she's misstyled to death on purpose, unlike her seemingly well curated looks during the sashing ceremony, day tours etc. I don't know, is it because her training was focused on SS performance?

Also her Miss World Philippines designer, Marc Rancy shared tea that halter aquamarine sequined dress she wore after the first cut was supposedly her prelim dress. I THOUGHT THEY SHOULD'VE PUSHED WITH THAT DRESS INSTEAD OF THE MUNDANE LIBIRAN ONE. The thing too with Alison, is that after that first cut, it's like she's tired, she's sad and it's like she knows she's stopping at that point. Maybe I am reading too much into things, but I hope that there was really a judging happening during the final night, and nothing was pre determined.

Anyway, congrats Alison, you should be proud! I feel that if she was given a longer training, She would've edged someone off the top 12!
But also yeah. #IbalikSaCubao.

Alison did her best.
She just didn't really get much support like when we were still "the best fans in the world".

Most Filipino fans nowadays tend to support other countries. Philippines reps frequently gets bashings na. That's just sad.

We cannot even win the fast tracks that require voting.

I think we have gone too mayabang and proud like that. We know that our girl will make it even without voting. >:)

Eh I've seen before in Miss Venezuela that each graphics like that are being released on that speed too. I don't know though.

Ewan ko.

Were so confident na di na natin namamalayan na nauungusan na tayo ng ibang bansa.

Support support pa din sana kahit gaano kaayaw yung National Org at yung Candidate na pinapadala.

They sent the runner up to Indonesia because indots bashed Chanique heavily. They’re probably afraid of her dear life in the training ground for terrorists. :-j :-j

:hx A LOT OF THINGS HERE I'D LIKE TO COMMENT: :hx

"On Alison not getting enough support"
I think she got "enough" support from Pinoy fans. She might not get what she needed (enough to win fan votes etc) but at least IMO she got the support she deserves. Pinoys aren't crazy about Supra and though most are against Alison's win, I saw naman how Pinoys supported still. Not on the level Pinoys supported Dindi but enough support to make her feel "seen". We cannot invalidate that. She was not left alone to fight.

"On the bashing"
Yep saw this, especially during Rabiya's time. Poor girl got mobbed by hurtful words. However, I don't think Pinoys bash for no reason. A lot of fans are being nit-picky but it's because of the high standards Pinay queens made in the past. Having high standards somehow helps us find the best queen for the job. As I always say, I hope Pinoys have the same standards of choosing Govt officials same as they choose their beauty queens =;))

"Filipinos supporting other countries"
This one I don't get? I often see Pinoys getting pissed whenever a co-Pinoy supports foreign girls as if supporting his/her own is a nationalistic responsibility. Ghorlss this is just pageantry not the election for the next UN world leader. To be too critical of his/her own girl for no justifiable reason is another case, though to be fair it's rare.

Overall, I don't think it's proper to put the blame on fans on this one. At the end of the day, it's about the girl and how she performed. If people saw potential in her to win they'd support her insanely. In the case of Alison let's be honest, she's one of the weakest we've sent in this pageant. She fought hard and I commend her for that but it's just not for her. Fans are smart, they know the potential of a girl at first glance. A winnable candidate will be flooded by support and the support requires a lot of time, energy, and passion. In short, fans invest. Investments are not given to something/someone who would probably not meet the desired result hence the lukewarm support. Then again, Pinoys supported Alison.

Aww, so happy for my sweetheart Praew! :hx :!! :hx Since her participation and 1st RU result in MWT '18, I was hoping that's not the end of her pageantry career and someday the justice will be done and she'll get recognised worldwide due to the international success. And the day has finally come! <:-P :!! Still it's a huge pity she didn't improve her English during all these past years to feel confident and comfortable enough in speaking it without a translator... :| This might cost her the crown so many times, because that's her only flaw... Nevertheless, huge congratulations to you, Bukita, and all the Thai people here on Misso! >:D< :-* Be proud of your stunning Queen and give her all the support she needs. She deserves it :hx

As for Lalela - she's absolutely gorgeous and deserving winner :hx =D> I'm sure she'll do a fantastic job during her reign and I'm genuinly happy with her victory, but still my heart was with Praew yesterday :hx

chorr wrote:I think Alison made the cut because of her efforts off the competition parts of the pageant too.

I think Alison did her best and gave herself body and soul to get to the top.
At least placed in the Top 24 which has a lot of merit =D>

The rest was already in the hands of the Jury.....
