feminists will say otherwise
Quite ironically, feminists are divided between supporting and opposing prostitution. However, there is a sweeping tendency for feminism to be against beauty pageantry.
Prostitution, if voluntary, is a private exchange between seller and buyer, both of whom decide how much the service is worth in monetary value.
Beauty pageantry is a ridiculous and farcical institution with some random people claiming to be "experts in judging beauty" and deciding who is more beautiful than others.
Feminist are actually very divided in the prostitution dialogue, and surprisingly they are feminist that do not have a problem with pageants that are more than just "who has a cute face".
Now I ask you, if you feel that way about pageantry, why are you in a forum solely dedicated to it?
Because beauty pageantry is, despite its silly concept, highly entertaining and full of glitz and gowns and twirling, faces like Oxana and Paulina, etc etc.
I too noticed a few other posters who express the same opinion - that this is all just good ol' entertainment.
