Countdown to 100th Anniv.: Future of Miss America pageant.

Postby ajsy0203 » Thu Dec 28, 2017 1:06 am

In 3 years Miss America will celebrate their 100th anniversary of the pageant but with the recent email scandal surrounding former Miss America CEO Sam Haskell. What would be the next major changes in the pageant (like crown, selection format, production, etc.) for the next 3 years towards the centennial anniversary of the pageant?

I wish it could have a positive outcome and pageants in general will make sure that contestants and winners will be treated with respect. I doubt that a big change will happen in pageantry or its patronage. Look at pageant fans today they trash contestants and winners they don’t like. Pageant fans do name-calling, slut-shaming and fat-shaming comments online all the time, so they will still watch no matter what.

Beauty Pageants are entertainments with the purpose of making money. The advocacies are big charade. Do you think fans watch pageants because of advocacies? Do you think that pageant organizers really care about advocacies? Answer is big no.
Look at pageants and contestants advocating for: Lifting children from poverty and hunger, Stop the war campaign, Protecting Mother Earth, Stop online bullying, Stop HIV spread, and many more. Outcomes: Children are still starving and dying of hunger around the world. Rogue leaders never listen to women in bikinis talking about war. Contestants talking about saving Mother Earth can’t even stop their own people in building mountains of garbage or dumping garbage in their famous rivers. Online bullying is getting worse. HIV is alive and kicking.

Big question? How much money goes to advocacies? Again advocacies are big charade.
Let’s be honest people want to see beautiful women and get entertained. Beauty pageants are focus on making money. Contestants r focus on winning, stardom n prize that come with the crown. I don’t blame fans , organizers, and contestants on what they want.
