Just wanted to say chorr that I agree with your review on Dindi. Like shit, she was my Miss Universe Philippines last year. What happened this year beats me. Love her, but her styling looks like everybody's collective bad decisions.

Like I said on Uno's thread, I am quite disappointed on Elima because I think she could've done so much better to solidify her front-runner status but I personally felt she plateaued and resorted to her old tricks. But I am still low key rooting for her. I'm convinced she can do well internationally.

As usual. On point. Your threads are quality sh**.

Not a fan of Maine but you made a lot of sense. I am actually rooting for Sirene but she looks too Eurasian.

Maine, Sirene or Katarina FTW.

Sweet Read Chorr!

BPCI produces at least 5 girls good to be sent to Miss Universe every year, that's why experts and Misso has bad prediction record in Bb. Pilipinas. Ain't that sweet?

Maine- My second bet for MUP, she lost me in the interview, she might get MI or MGI. Sorry Chorr! Will be happy though if she gets MUP
Sirene- My top bet for MUP, interview could be better otherwise topnotch total package.
Mariel- My third bet for MUP, she might get Intercontinental.
Rachel- My fourth bet for MUP, she might get Supranational
Katarina- My fifth bet for MUP, she might get MI.

As for Dindi, I don't think she is badly styled, just fine.

Uno is right, serve your thread in one hard strike

I trust Maine and her new team that whatever crown she wins, she'll be trained to cut, mince and burn the competition.

A part of me is hoping that the messy styling is a part of Dindi's game plan to get noticed, a kind of a reverse psychology trick to make us believe that she's got tricks in her sleeves. Messy or not, I still place her in the upper half of this batch. Thanks for dropping by hun! :-*

There's nothing wrong with looking Eurasian, I'm just not Sirene's biggest fan. Good luck to all the ladies!

I will next time! Thank you!

Dindi is decent, but she lost all her star and stand out power she had last year. We'll see if she can shine bright again in the final night!

And I agree. Binibining Pilipinas wont be as messy and as fun as it is if all us are in agreement of which is which. In retrospect, having a predictable, give-away winner makes the other nationals here in the country dull and bland ayt?

Good assessment, I have to agree with UNO about Charmaine, she still have those "rats" under her chest. She should kick those rats for pete's sake.. Well overall my top girls for MUP are Peters/Sutton/De Leon/Elima

Perfect explanation for why I also believe Mariel if better for MI.
Same thoughts also in picking Calingo for MGI.

Report Card timez~

3/6, with the eventual MUP as one of my alternates for the title, I got the Miss International rep this time.

10/15. Not bad!

I am gonna write my review of the final night a little later~

Admins, thanks for a spot in the SoE thread! I appreciate it! :-*

chorr wrote:

In conclusion, I am going to repeat what I've said in the coverage: There are lots of beautiful, and very competitive girls in this batch but there are only a handful that has that international impact with them. Surely, some of the girls can and will comeback, I genuinely wish all of them the best of luck but I am betting my money on my top five. All of them can make a good representative to Miss Universe of course, with the right training after they win the most coveted crown. Am I feeling another Miss Universe crown any time soon? No. I am sensing a trend of all past winning countries be given another crown soon, hence Colombia, France and us were already given our chance. I am feeling that the winner's curse in Miss International will continue, so I rather have one of my top 5s clap instead of having them wasted there. Another thing I feel is that the lower crowns will be seriously mismatched to girls again like last year: Nichole Manalo should've been the Supra girl and not Joanna Eden - who would've fared better in Miss Intercontinental in my opinion. All in all, BPCI should stop aiming for many official candidates, and focus on having the best of the best only. Oh well, being an official candidate in Asia's most competitive nationals is already a big thing on its own - so I don't really give beef to the filler girls.

Sooo! That wraps my blabbing regarding this edition of Binibining Pilipinas. Agree? Disagree? Agree to disagree? Please leave your inputs and lets discuss!
Images are taken from BPCI's official Facebook page and the official website of Binibining Pilipinas.
:-* :-* :-* :-*

UPPING THIS THREAD WITH A REVIEW OF MY PREDICTION ON PH's PERFOMANCE LAST YEAR:

1. Another country from the olden days of Miss Universe won! Let us not be surprised if Brazil, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago, Greece and Lebanon will win any time soon!
2. The Miss International winner's curse DID in fact continue. Oh well, at least we are off the hook now.
3. LOL! While Chanel was decent in MS, I thought that Liz's performance in MGI and Katarina's perfomance in MIc could've at least placed us in top 5, Nelda deserved her Globe placement.

I hope I can find the time to write again this year! ~X(
